About me and my therapy practice
Practice description
My theoretical approach reflects my own morals and values. This is one of a Humanistic approach. I offer a pluralistic model of techniques. The nature of my counselling is based upon the belief that each person is a unique individual and equal irrespective of age, race, colour, nationality, religion, ethnic or national origin, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or gender. I hold a deep respect for the significance and worth of each unique individual. Each person has an equal worth and dignity in his/her own right and has a capacity and right for self-direction. I believe that a person’s life is organic and we all have a self-actualisation process and continually strive for personal growth. I believe in the capacity of the individual to manage constructively all aspects of their own life. It is my aim to provide an opportunity for the client to work towards living in a way s/he experiences as more satisfying and resourceful.
My first session
A person will be greeted by myself in a warm, safe building. I will begin the introduction and describe further the counselling I can offer with regards to boundaries, confidentiality, record keeping and answer any questions a person may have about the counselling process. I will then ask a person to complete a short wellbeing form which takes a couple of minutes. From there-on a person can direct where we go from there. This is your time to use how you want and we will progress at your pace.

Practice description
My practice is informed from 20 years training and experience as a counsellor and continuing training. As a pluralistic supervisor, I offer a safe environment with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Ethical boundaries and good practice. I hold 'University of Oxford Centre for Research' risk assessment at the fore of my mind.
My Supervision is structured with a mixture of Keith Tudor & Mike Worrall’s ‘Freedom to Practice’ approach and Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet’s ‘Supervision in the Helping Professions’.
My first session
Before our first session we will meet for an informal chat to discuss your needs and I can explain in more detail what I can offer. Together we can collaborate to find a structured way forward.
