About me and my therapy practice
I will provide a safe and confidential space to talk about whatever is bothering you. Someone who will listen to you, tell it exactly how it is for you, without you having to tone things down or be afraid of upsetting someone.
Counselling provides the opportunity to explore your concerns in a way you cannot do with perhaps family or friends.
I like to create a sense of calm and safety within the counselling room to give you the ability to focus on whatever you need to work on. I may also challenge the way you look at things and encourage you to see things in a different way.

Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I work in a variety of ways to suit each individual person. I worked as a voluntary counsellor for Cruse Bereavement for three years and this involved seeing clients who have experienced loss and bereavement in some way. I also counselled people who are working as carers and this has involved working with depression, anxiety and low self-esteem issues.
I am able to draw on my life experiences to help me recognise and understand what you are trying to achieve through the counselling process. I have been a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a divorcee, a manager, a friend and a confidante. I am very down to earth and honest in my work and believe that the relationship we build together is paramount to what we can achieve together.
My first session
On our first session I will ask you to complete a contract and provide me with a few personal details. Then we can talk about what you would like to gain from the counselling sessions and how we can achieve this.
I will take notes during this session which are stored securely so that no-one could identify you from these. I do this so that I am able to have a quick recap prior to our next session.
My goal is to encourage individuals to explore their issues and work towards a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been providing supervision for student counsellors and counsellors in private practice for the last few years, as well as providing supervision for counsellors who are working with couples in therapy.
I also provide supervision for people working in organisations which provide mental health support. This maybe via ISVA’s (Independent Sexual Violence Advisors), young people’s support groups or through various charities and training organisations
My experience of running a counselling service for a charity for five years, plus my own private practice, has given me a wealth of experience which has been invaluable in providing supervision.
Looking after student counsellors in placement has given me plenty of insight into what they need and expect from the supervision process. I can provide Supervision for individual counsellors whether they are fully qualified or in training.
Practice description
I believe that the supervisory relationship is paramount in helping counsellors become more confident and knowledgeable in their approach to client work. I know how much my own supervision has helped me and continues to do so, and I would like to provide this for others.
My fees are £60 per hourly session and I offer a reduced rate of £55 for students until they are qualified.
