About me and my therapy practice
We all face emotional challenges at some point, and it can be beneficial to seek support from a trained professional during such times. With over 20 years of experience, I have supported individuals dealing with a wide range of issues, particularly in hospice and home care settings. I specialize in assisting those diagnosed with serious illnesses, their family members, caregivers, and those grieving.
As a fully accredited systemic psychotherapist (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, UKCP), I draw from various therapeutic approaches, including relational, person-centred, narrative, CBT, solution-focused, and coaching/leadership methods. My practice focuses on understanding the relationships and systems that influence our lives. I am also a qualified supervisor, trained through Cascade.
I offer a confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings. For some, even one session can address a specific concern. Therapy allows you to express your true feelings and collaboratively explore new ways of being. Together, we can develop practical strategies and reframe unhelpful thought patterns.
I have particular expertise in working with individuals who:
• Provide counselling services
• Hold professional leadership roles
• Face challenges in their relationships
• Are diagnosed with serious illnesses (e.g., cancer, neurological conditions)
• Are caregivers or supporting loved ones
• Are in remission or recovering from illness
• Are grieving or experiencing loss
If this resonates with you, I am here to offer compassionate support tailored to your needs.
Practice description
As a systemic therapist, I am passionate about understanding and addressing challenges within the context of your relationships and the systems you are part of. I believe that our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are often shaped by interactions with family, social circles, and the broader community. My approach is to explore how anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties may stem from larger patterns within these systems, rather than being individual problems. Together, we can identify and shift any unhelpful patterns to foster healthier communication and connections.
I offer flexible appointments during the day and early evening, with the option for ongoing sessions that can be time-limited or open-ended, based on what feels right for you. If you’re looking for a one-off session to address a specific concern, I’m happy to accommodate that too.
Sessions can take place via Zoom, over the phone, or occasionally in person. If you’re unable to travel due to health reasons, I can visit you at home or in a local hospital or hospice. Each session is up to 60 minutes, providing a safe and supportive space for us to work together.
My first session
In our first session, we’ll cover some practical details, such as confidentiality, fees, your preferences for session times and frequency, and any necessary paperwork. This can be done remotely or in person, depending on what works best for you.
We’ll take the time to explore what’s most important for you to discuss at this point in your life. This session is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions and learn more about the therapy process. I’m genuinely interested in getting to know you—your life as it is today and the relationships that are significant to you. You might want to share about your connections with family, friends, colleagues, or even your relationship with the places, activities, and interests that shape your world.
We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, engaging in conversations that feel right. I look forward to meeting you and beginning this journey together.
