About me and my therapy practice
I offer one-to-one and couple counselling interventions in English and Italian.
Along with sessions in clinical rooms, I also provide outdoors 'walk and talk' and telephone therapy.
I chose to train in the humanistic/person centred modality because I believe that each human being has the innate capacity to know what they need to be happy.
My areas of specialisation include: counselling for depression, counselling for education professionals, mindfulness-based counselling, couples counselling.
I have worked with a wide variety of clients, including academics, carers, police officers, medical doctors, refugees, asylum seekers and ethnic minorities, students, and survivors of abuse. I have extensive experience of working with people presenting with a broad spectrum of challenges and issues, which include bereavement, cultural diversity, depression, discrimination and inequality, gender identity and sexual orientation, self-harm and suicidal ideation, relationship and family issues, trauma, and work-related stress.
As a complement to my teaching and counselling skills, I am a mindfulness practitioner and a qualified yoga teacher. This holistic blend of talents gives me a unique way of practising as a therapist combining a highly attuned sensitivity and a gentle presence, which ensure a safe and comforting therapeutic environment where emotional discomfort can be heard, held and healed.
Practice description
One-to one therapy: during our sessions, I will listen to your story and offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you will have the possibility to be supported and held throughout your journey of self-discovery.
I will help you take care of inner conflicts and tensions and gain an understanding of how they reflect on your interactions with the environment around you; I will accompany you in a process of rediscovery of the heart-warming power of inner peace and emotional balance.
I am also interested in exploring the role of the breath and the body in the emotional healing process; when appropriate, I will integrate my practice with mindfulness-based exercises and interventions, aimed at helping you with the following:
gain a deeper awareness of how your body and breath respond to emotional change;
become aware of the messages they send when attention needs to be paid to emotional distress;
take care of your emotional distress while at the same time remaining in touch with -or rediscovering- the joyful, soothing and healing elements in your life.
Couples therapy: while remaining empathic and non-judgemental, I will base my work with couples on a more directive approach; together, we will work to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours, and explore ways to introduce and maintain appropriate changes for the benefit of your relationship.

About me and my therapy practice
Having experienced first hand the healing power of mindfulness practice, I am eager to combine my counselling skills with my 20-year-long experience as a mindfulness practitioner: I offer therapy sessions based on specific mindfulness practices to help you take care of your emotional distress.
Practice description
From war to warmth: taking care of inner conflicts and experiencing the heart-warming power of emotional healing.
We will work together to address issues connected to anger management and family relationships, drawing on specific mindfulness literature and practices. I will ask you to buy mindfulness books that deal with the issue you need to explore, and guide you through the suggested practices. I will ask you to practise specific mindfulness exercises between appointments and, during our sessions, you will also have the opportunity to explore your emotional response to the work we are doing.
