About me and my therapy practice
For those considering talking therapy, I offer an initial consultation, whereby we meet, talk about the therapy process & giving you the opportunity to ask any questions. It is also useful in allowing us to spend a short time together to see if we both feel we can work together (it is crucial we both feel comfortable & at ease to allow the natural process of a good therapeutic relationship, crucial to any successful therapeutic intervention)...
I believe in putting the client at ease with a professional, yet warm approach, helping the client to feel more secure, willing and able to open up and explore in the safety of the therapy room. This, in turn leads the way for heightened self-awareness and positive change.
Once therapy commences, I offer sessions either via face to face, video link, telephone or Walk & Talk sessions outdoors in the beautiful surroundings of Sutton Park.
Practice description
I believe in putting the client at ease with a professional, yet warm approach, helping the client to feel more secure, willing and able to open up and explore in the safety of the therapy room. This, in turn leads the way for heightened self-awareness and positive change.
Offering affordable psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, positive psychology & counselling (including bereavement counselling) for individuals and couples, children & adolescents via face to face, email, online or telephone. I also offer "walk & talk" therapy whereby sessions can be held outdoors in the beautiful natural surroundings of Sutton Park. I work with an integrative approach meaning I will adapt my therapies to suit each individual client's needs, therefore, if, in my professional opinion, I feel a client would benefit from more than one approach, I will integrate whichever interventions I feel suitable. I also offer one to one hypnotherapy.
I am happy to work with counselling psychology students who are requiring therapy as part of their studies, these sessions are given at a reduced fee.
I use a person centred approach, meaning that I will assist you in exploring and understanding any issues you choose to bring to the session and help you find the tools to deal with or minimise their effect. Hence, helping you live your life in a more satisfying way.
At all times I will remain empathic, understanding and non-judgemental. I will also encourage you to take control whilst I assist you, helping you to be more aware of your own coping abilities which in time will give you the confidence to deal with both present and any future situations you might come across.
I will allow you the space to talk openly, giving you the opportunity to express any thoughts, feelings, fears etc in complete confidence.
My first session
During the initial consultation I would ask you to fill in a form providing contact details, give you a copy of the therapeutic contract and allow time for you to ask any questions you might have.
Such a consultation is for the duration of 30 minutes and costs £15.
