About me and my therapy practice
Need help finding your way out of anxiety or depression?
I want to help you feel less stressed and find your way through blocks to your potential.
I offer remote counselling services both online and by telephone, as well as 1 to 1 psychotherapy sessions in Bristol, BS4. Over 20 years as a qualified Psychotherapist providing counselling to help improve mental health in Bristol (and the UK):
Learn how to deal with & reduce levels of anxiety, so that you can feel happier just being yourself
Deal with depression to start enjoying life again
Improve your relationships so that they enrich your life again
How I work
A warm welcome to you.
Therapy with me is about being able to talk about things in a way that is difficult to do with a relative or friend.
Maybe you struggle to get up in the morning, feel afraid to be alone, or feel that something is missing in your life.
We will look at what causes your stress or low feelings, explore your relationships, and any repetitive patterns you feel entrenched in.
I will teach you easy and helpful methods to manage, so you can feel more satisfied and have more control over your life.
I have trained in various approaches to psychotherapy and worked with many kinds of people. My psychotherapeutic approach is eclectic and flexible, and will be different for each client. However, my approach is hugely influenced by body centred psychotherapies like Hakomi, Sensory Awareness, and Somatic Experiencing.
Media, Referrals & Testimonials
Alongside presenting The Stress, Anxiety & Binge-Eating Recovery Podcast, I speak, write and give expert opinion in the media. I specialise in content around managing stress, building self-confidence and zest for life, finding healthy relationship and overcoming binge-eating.

One of the ways I help you to feel more comfortable in your own skin is through embodiment.
What this means is that I direct your attention to inner experiences via your sensations and feelings in your body. This is how to access the heart of your beliefs about life.
From this exploration comes the strength of knowing who you are, what you want, what’s troubling you, what your strengths are and all the resources you have available to you.
This helps you to move forward in a way that does more than just scratch the surface. This is healing through your body’s core. Made famous by practices like yoga and mindfulness, embodiment goes beyond CBT to the heart of the issue.
My first session
First Steps
Want to see if we're a good fit for working together? Let's book a complimentary telephone call to talk.
Text or email me first. Tell me a little about what you're dealing with.
I will contact you.
Then we can book an introductory session, set you up with a regular appointment time, or enrol you in a group.
I'll look forward to helping you work out what's best.
Your First Session
During an initial individual session, you can expect to receive support and to be listened to. I will guide you with questions to begin with. As we explore, you will likely gain some understanding of your patterns, and how to start to tackle your concerns. This will point you in the right direction.
My therapy sessions are typically 1 hour a week online, by phone, or 1 to 1 – depending on what you are comfortable with.
