About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Paul Berry, a Counselling Psychotherapist offering flexible online therapy for individuals and couples.
I use Humanistic Integrative Counselling and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), with over a decade of experience helping clients work through a range of issues like anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, and personal development. My aim is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, and develop practical strategies for positive change.
For individuals, I specialize in Emotion-Focused Therapy, which helps you better understand and manage difficult emotions, while fostering personal growth and resilience.
For couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you break negative patterns of communication and build stronger, healthier relationships. Together, we will restructure interactions and work towards a deeper, more secure emotional connection.
Sessions are available online through Zoom, giving you the flexibility to engage in therapy from the comfort of your home. I’m confident that my approach will help you navigate the challenges you’re facing, whether it’s anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or trauma.
Practice description
Online Practice
I offer flexible and convenient online therapy via Zoom and, if preferred, Signal. This allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home, at a time that fits your schedule. Online sessions also come with the added benefit of reduced rates due to lower overheads.
I understand that using online platforms for therapy can feel unfamiliar for some, so I provide set-up support to make the process as easy as possible. Both Zoom and Signal are free to use for clients and provide secure, confidential spaces for our sessions.
With many years of experience in delivering online therapy, I’ve found this approach to be highly effective. It is supported by research that demonstrates how online therapy can be just as beneficial as face-to-face therapy. You can expect the same level of professionalism and care in our online sessions as you would in person.
What to expect from our sessions:
I create a supportive and collaborative environment where we can explore the challenges you are facing and work towards positive, meaningful change. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, or personal development, I’m confident we can make progress together.
I offer individual sessions at £65 and couples therapy assessments at £65, with full couples sessions at £75. This structure allows for flexible, tailored support depending on your needs.
My first session
What to expect in our first session:
For individuals, the first session lasts 50 minutes and is divided into two parts. The first 30 minutes will focus on assessing your current situation, including your relationships, environment, and work. In the remaining time, we’ll discuss how we might work together to address your current challenges and set goals for your therapy.
For couples, the first session is 60 minutes and follows a different structure. We’ll start with both partners together, followed by individual sessions with each of you. This approach helps me understand your relationship dynamic and the challenges you’re facing.
Before our first session, I’ll send you secure assessment forms and a confidentiality agreement using Hushmail, a medical-grade, secure email service. These can be easily completed online.

My first session
The first session is 50 minutes and divided into two parts.
The first thirty minutes is assessing the current situation, taking general information about you, your relationships, your current environment, and your current work.
The second part of the assessment is seeing if we can work together on the current problem and setting some goals for your therapy.
Prior to the assessment session, you will be sent assessment forms and a confidentiality agreement. These are sent using a secure Husmail Medical grade service and can be completed and returned online.
Couples first session is for 60 minutes and takes a different format.
I see couples initially together and then one session each individually. This is good practice in understanding the couple's current situation and relational dynamic.
