About me and my therapy practice

I offer a respectful and confidential space in which to explore your life and talk about your concerns. I will not give advice or judge you, but listen carefully and attempt, through my questions and reflections, to help you make sense of your situation and identify opportunities for change. I believe that when we have a greater awareness of ourselves, we have more choice in the way that we respond to people, situations and life in general. Therapy provides the opportunity gain this awareness.

I obtained my Masters Degree and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at The Minster Centre, where I now teach. As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I have been trained in a range of theories and approaches which I incorporate into my work.  In practical terms, this means that I seek to find a way of working that feels right for every client.  Some of the approaches and theories that influence my work are: existential, Jungian, humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment and relational.

I have worked with clients of different ages and backgrounds, including many whose first language is not English. These are some of the issues that I have had experience of dealing with: life transitions, divorce, bereavement, relationship problems, understanding family dynamics, anxiety, depression, understanding difficult feelings, loneliness, identity issues, feeling different, life crisis, low self-esteem, desire to understand dreams.

I work in Hackney and Finsbury Park, London, and online; all sessions last 50 minutes.

I am also a clinical supervisor and work with individuals and small groups. For further information about supervision, please switch to the Supervisor tab (above).

I am a member of the UKCP and the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and abide by their guidelines with regard to ethics and confidentiality. In accordance with these, my work is regularly supervised, I am insured and I am committed to ongoing professional development.

My first session

In the initial session I will ask you about yourself and what brings you to therapy. We will also discuss some of the practicalities of therapy.

This session is an opportunity for a mutual assessment: you will get an idea of what it is like to be in therapy with me and can decide whether you would like to continue, and I will assess whether I feel my way of working will be beneficial to you. In the event that I do not think we will work well together, I will endeavour to recommend another therapist or course of action to you. The session will last 50 minutes.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a non-judgemental space in which we can explore your client work and any aspects of your practice that you wish to bring. I will support and challenge you in a respectful way through my curiosity and observations, attention to transference and countertransference, reflective practice, exploration of ethical and moral dilemmas, attention to boundaries and more.

I work from a relational integrative perspective, through the lens of difference. This means that, whilst holding the client in mind, I will also pay attention to the dynamic between us and how that may be significant to your work and the dynamics that emerge there. I believe that difference has an impact on our work even if it is not named explicitly and that it is important to explore and understand how this may be affecting the work in the room.

In addition to working in private practice, I am a trainer and supervisor at The Minster Centre in London.  I undertook my supervision training at TA East, where I am a visiting tutor.  I have contributed a chapter to Therapists Challenging Racism and Oppression, edited by Zahid and Cooke (PCCS Books, 2023).

I practise from Strides HCC in Finsbury Park, where there is a ground floor accessible room available upon request and Space To Be You in Hackney, where the room is accessible via stairs only.  I also offer remote sessions via Zoom.

Supervision sessions last 50 minutes for individuals; small-group supervision is available for 90 or 120 minutes for 2–4 people.
