About me and my therapy practice

Do you feel overwhelmed, powerless, anxious, sad, worried, afraid, depressed - all of the above?

Are you having difficulties at work or at home as a result of issues that are out of your control?

I offer short term therapy (6-10 sessions) in a safe calm and confidential space where we can work together to explore what has brought you to therapy and find the best way forward for you to get where you want to be.

I offer both online and in person therapy, the initial session being online.

I have over 12 years experience in private practice, family support services and the NHS,  where I have worked with a very varied client base and a range of presenting issues.

I also have over 20 years experience of supporting people who are having difficulties in the workplace or difficulties at home, which are impacting upon work, including bereavement and loss, divorce or relationship breakdown, bullying, sickness absence, work related stress, disciplinary processes, dismissal, grievance procedures etc; guiding and supporting them through the workplace processes as needed, whilst also recognising and exploring the feelings.

This experience enables me to help people find the solutions that work best for them.  That might be either navigating a way back into the workplace or exploring the alternatives that would be best for them.

A large percentage of our time is spent at work and often we spend more time with work colleagues and managers than with our close family members.  Work issues or struggles can deeply affect home life and personal relationships making us feel miserable with nowhere to turn.

Sometimes, it is a lot easier to talk to someone who is not emotionally involved who is trained to listen in an empathic and non-judgmental way and where troubles can be offloaded, worked through and recovered from.

Together we will explore the feelings and the options, so that you can feel better and get on with your life.

Practice description

Life and our emotions can feel very overwhelming at times and talking to someone can really help.  Often family and friends are too close and want to try and fix things for you rather than listen.

Maybe things are too personal or too raw to speak to friends and family about.

Perhaps some things from your past are still impacting on you in the here and now.

Possibly you don't know what's wrong - you just don't feel right!

Sometimes its much easier to talk to someone who is not emotionally involved; a professional person who is trained to listen in an empathic and non-judgemental way and where troubles can be offloaded, worked through and recovered from so that you can get back to living your life.

I am an accredited member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and qualified counsellor/psychotherapist.  I have also undertaken numerous additional training courses to increase my skill set and knowledge, ensuring I work with you to achieve the best possible outcomes.

During our sessions we will work together to explore your difficult feelings, to help find a better understanding of yourself; to begin to heal from past hurts and to find a way forward that is best for you.  I have a gentle approach and will always work at your pace so that you get the best from the sessions.

My first session

The first session will be an online appointment during which I will ask a few questions about what has brought you to counselling and what your hopes are from it.  It will be at your pace and there will be no pressure to disclose anything you do not wish to.

Should we then decide to proceed with further sessions, I can offer either online or in person.
