Availability
For people who prefer working Face-To-Face, I welcome clients into my calm and tranquil home therapy room in Pencoed, Bridgend.
Since the pandemic changed our ways of accessing services, I've worked from home offering video-conferencing and telephone counselling. I use Zoom, Doxy.Me, and phone calls - whichever you prefer. This means I can offer therapy to anyone in the UK, from the comfort of your own home (or any other confidential space).
So many clients who were unsure initially have embraced this way of coming to therapy. There's no travel time or parking, so you can hopefully feel more relaxed in your own environment. I also offer home visits to clients living in Pencoed CF35.
I'm Accredited with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ) and Professional Accredited with NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society), registered with ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online), and qualified and certified to provide online and telephone counselling.
I offer a free, no-obligation 10-15-minute telephone or Zoom consultation if you'd like to find out more.
I will try to respond 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 8am-12pm on Saturdays, and can be flexible with appointment times to fit around your schedule.
My individual session fees are:
Monday - Friday 8am-8pm £50 per hour
Saturday mornings as available £50 per hour
Home visits, Pencoed only £60 per hour
Currently, I have very limited early evening and evening appointments. Please do get in touch - I'm here to help.
About me and my therapy practice
Do you need a safe confidential place to speak openly and honestly, with someone neutral and non-judgemental?
You may be looking to make some changes to your life or have a dilemma to talk through. Maybe you've lost someone close, or feel isolated, anxious, stressed, depressed, or burnt out. You could be having difficulty in a relationship or at your workplace, or have another concern that's preventing you from moving forward. I'm also qualified to work with adults seeking adoption support.
I'm about empathy - seeing things from your viewpoint - and working to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. I'm quite interactive, so you'll get much more than 'hmms' and 'uh-huhs'.
Working in a person-centred way means listening without judgement, understanding, and believing. Rather than giving advice or opinions, it's about exploring options together so that you can make your own decisions and choices. This can help with increasing confidence and self-esteem, by learning to trust your own judgement.
I always promote self-care to help increase self-worth and esteem. We will work at your pace, and you choose the focus of the session. My aim is to help you live your best life, and encourage you to work towards being your best you rather than comparing yourself to others.
I have 'broad shoulders', am not easily shocked, and never judge whatever clients choose to share with me. Sometimes people are fearful of speaking about their feelings or showing emotion. Please be reassured that this is a normal part of the therapy and healing process and will be welcomed sensitively.
My response time is fast - usually within a couple of hours between 8am and 6pm (Mon-Fri) - so please be reassured that I will get back to you asap.

Practice description
I've been a counsellor for 13+ years and have completed over 13,000 client hours. My qualifying training was a Humanistic diploma and my main core approach is called 'Person-Centred', which I have described above.
It's a gentle and compassionate way of working - I accept you for who you are, so that you can feel safe to be yourself. You choose what you would like to focus on and how much you want to tell me. We work at your pace to explore your feelings and concerns.
I promote Self-Care (being kind to yourself, putting yourself first, getting your needs met), Me-Time, body positivity, and being your best you! Learning to trust your instincts, to ask for what you need, and learn assertiveness helps to increase confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.
Incorporating aspects of Mindfulness into our sessions helps with anxiety, panic, intrusive thoughts, depression, deadlines, focusing, relaxation, grounding, and more.
I work face-to-face, online, and on the phone. I'm based in my tranquil home-counselling room, which you will see if you choose Zoom sessions or come to your appointments in person.
I have 2 little rescue dogs who like to sit in with me, so if you would prefer not to see them or would like to meet them, please just let me know.
My private practice clients are adults, young adults (18+), Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) members, charity-funded clients, and college/university students.
You can stay as long or short as you like. Private counselling/psychotherapy means that you can have a break or end the work, and return at any time and not have to start from the beginning with someone else.
Why not give counselling a try? I offer a free-of-charge 15-minute consultation so that you can decide whether you'd like to go ahead with therapy. I'm here to help and support you.
Weekday therapy sessions are £50 per hour, and home visits (Pencoed CF35) are £60.
Concessionary rates are available for low-income clients and counselling-students (£40); please ask for more info.
My first session
In normal circumstances, our first session will be one hour where we can:
- Discuss your concerns or problems that you're facing
- Explore any changes you hope to make
- and what you'd like to get from coming to counselling
There is a short client information form to complete, a privacy document to sign, and a counselling working contract to agree as we begin working together.
This information-gathering process can be completed and returned before your first session, or during your first in-person, video, or telephone call. I'll email the forms to you beforehand and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We will still have plenty of time during your first session to start talking about what concerns you most.
Understandably the thought of coming to counselling can be quite daunting, but please be reassured that you and your feelings will be always treated with respect.
Regarding fees, a card payment is taken at the time of booking to secure your first session. You can cancel or reschedule though, with 24+ hours' notice. After that, you are welcome to pay by card, cash, or bank transfer to confirm your next booking.
Therapy can be at my place, your place, over the phone, or online - whichever you prefer.
