About me and my therapy practice
Hello,
I am an experienced therapist offering counselling sessions for adults and young people aged 14 and over. My therapeutic support involves listening compassionately to the material brought to session and exploring the nature of these experiences.
I provide professional insight and perspectives in approaching problems to enhance well being and create an overall positive change in understanding. This helps make meaning out of life in the "here and now" and also provides support with benefits that are ongoing in making life choices for the future.
When situations or context do not have solutions, supporting the process of emotionally healing is the focus of therapy.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am a supportive Supervisor offering practitioners the space to reflect on their work and gain insight for continued personal and professional development.
The emphasis is on helping practitioners to gain a sense of themselves in relation to their client work as well as ensure there is space to lighten the load and express any held emotions which could benefit from further exploration.
The support provided allows for a creative space to think in a shared way about experiences and feelings both from a lived perspective and theoretical perspective.
Following the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ ethical framework is central to all support offered to trainees, those working towards accreditation as well as those who are fully accredited.
Practice description
In terms of experience, I am an accredited Counsellor and qualified Supervisor using an integrative approach in my work. I began my career as person centred counsellor before gaining an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies.
I have gone on to teach on counselling courses at Tyne Met College as well as on the Degree programme at the University of Sunderland. Currently I work as a therapist at Newcastle University as well as in private practice.
I have a wide body of experience working as a counsellor in the education sector and voluntary sector supporting both adults and young people. From a project management perspective, I have an MBA degree specialising in Service Industry Management along with experience running counselling support programmes.
If you have any queries please feel free to contact me for an initial discussion.
Kind Regards,
Genevieve
My first session

This will be an opportunity to discuss your progress towards accreditation and any personal and professional goals you would like to achieve in the short and long term.
This is also a chance for you to ask questions and have space and time to address your own emotional and well being needs, in addition to the needs of the clients you support.
