About me and my therapy practice
About me
There will be times when we all experience emotional difficulties in our lives and where we will often look for support from our family and friends. Sometimes, however, this is not enough.
Hello and welcome. My name is Sue and I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I respect and practice within its ethical framework. I offer confidential face to face counselling in a peaceful, comfortable and friendly riverside office setting in Stockton. This is easily accessible from the A19 and has ample parking.
I have substantial experience working with both male and female adults and young people. This includes working with a variety of issues from anxiety and depression through to relationship and anger management.
I offer a confidential and safe space in which to explore your experiences and issues offering a person-centred counselling service to give you the opportunity to make changes in your life. Feeling heard and understood is often the first step towards change. So, I invite you to take some time for yourself. Talking things through with a Counsellor can help you understand yourself better. It can help you find ways through difficulties and work towards lasting change.
Whether you are struggling with a traumatic life event or a more general feeling of sadness, or struggling with that work life balance, therapy can help.
If you would like to discuss how I can help you, please give me a call or email me.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been providing individual and group clinical supervision for counsellors and therapist, hospital staff and more in Stockton on Tees for a number of years. My aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can review and examine your practice and your relationships with your clients. My Consultancy is based in Richard House, Stockton on Tees, with supervisees coming from around the local area. I believe that the most effective, creative and safest therapy comes from your ability to constantly challenge your own perceptions and feelings as they arise in the therapeutic relationship. Supervision should be a positive and creative experience that enables you to discharge and to review your work in an honest and respectful way. My practice is influenced by person-centred theory, but also includes my experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
