About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist specialising in complex trauma such as historical abuse , domestic violence and PTSD.  I also work with a variety of problems.

Working from an integrative perspective,  means that I combine different theories and ways of working, within a warm, caring and accepting approach, very much tailored to your individual difficulties and circumstances.

I am also trained as an EMDR (trauma) therapist and may suggest using EMDR to address recent or past traumas, where these are causing or influencing difficulties in the present, including relational issues. EMDR is a strongly-evidenced and fully collaborative therapy that can work quickly to get to the root of present problems and symptoms. By linking together past memories and emotions, present events and future fears, we can bring about relief of symptoms and real and lasting change.

Please see https://www.getselfhelp.co.uk//docs/EMDR.pdf for a brief explanation of EMDR.

We may also, if needed, use cognitive behavioural (CBT) strategies and techniques to help you gain relief from troubling current symptoms such as anxiety, panic, anger and depression.

Practice description

Hello,

Thank you for taking time to view my profile. I appreciate that it can be difficult to choose a therapist and how important it is to take time to find the right person.

I am a counsellor and EMDR therapist, passionate and enthusiastic about helping people with emotional and mental health difficulties.

I work particularly with difficulties caused by Trauma past or recent, with bereavement and with other difficult losses and life events. I work with all types of abuse in childhood. Through the therapy we hope to understand and alleviate symptoms such as anxiety, stress, anger, guilt, shame or depression.

I aim to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space, in which we can explore your difficulties together, to try to make sense of what may have happened, to understand confusion and disconnection. Often people tell me that they want to ‘put the pieces of the puzzle together’, or even to find the pieces. A good outcome might be that you feel more ‘together’, more grounded, more confident, and a sense that we have ‘joined the dots’.

I also work well with;-

Pain management

Eating Disorders

Addictions

Phobias

Self Sabotage

I am also a clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness practitioner and  can help you to move forward and reduce Anxiety, build your self -esteem and confidence.

Couples £65 per session

EMDR £70 per session

Hypnotherapy £60 per session

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced and qualified supervisor with my own supervised practice . I have a diploma is Supervision skills and advanced supervision skills/

I work in Lincoln City centre .

I work with a range of approaches and also provide supervision to  other supervisors and student counsellors.

I offer an  experiential and relational approach to supervision, helping therapists to explore their own style of working while using material from our relationship to explore their client material. I can also offer support to trainees in getting the experience they need to complete their training hours and to develop a practice of their own.

Practice description

As an experienced supervisor, the way i practice is that I  support the Counsellor or Psychotherapist to reflect on his/her work, explore other possible ways of working, discover new ideas and strategies, analyze some of the interventions with the client and their consequences, receive feedback and some more guidance whenever necessary. Together, we´ll ensure continuous learning on a personal and professional level. We will gain greater awareness of ourselves, our work, our clients and the dynamics of the relationships involved.

My first session

Our first supervision session will be a chance to explore what the Counsellor or Psychotherapist wants to get out of our sessions.  It will be an introduction to find out how we both work.
