About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Relate trained counsellor. Relate are the UK’s largest provider of professional relationship support.I now run my own private practice near Dover in Kent. I offer face to face and online counselling.
Sometimes the differences between a couple that naturally occur in relationships can feel insurmountable, ‘we’re so different, how can this relationship work?’ Couples counselling aims to help you overcome these differences by helping you understand what communicating and listening effectively to each other looks like and feels like. You will feel listened to and heard.
Over time a relationship can get stuck in patterns that aren’t always useful. Together we explore what your patterns are and why they might be so difficult to shift. Perhaps they are echoes from past relationship experiences or unresolved emotional pain? We gently explore what’s really going on and try to exchange the less useful patterns for something that feels better so you can have the relationship you want and deserve.
Practice description
I can imagine you’re feeling nervous about approaching a counsellor for the first time and discussing private matters with a stranger. It’s only natural and expected. I am not here to criticise or blame, simply to use my experience to try and help you. Counselling should always be non-judgemental, I aim to help my clients feel comfortable and respected and once you feel safe enough we can use the relationship we’ve formed to explore what’s going on for you.
My first session
The first session is a practical fact-finding session. It’s a 40-50 minute long interview in which I can ask all the questions I need to ethically and practically ask and you can ask all the questions you need to ask. At the end of this session we will be able to decide if couple’s counselling is the right course of action for you.
Initial sessions are conducted online via Zoom and cost £60
Subsequent sessions are usually weekly via Zoom and cost £60
I often begin work with a couple with an individual session each these also cost £60
Daytime and evening sessions are available.

I aim to help my clients feel completely comfortable and respected. I won’t tell you what to do but will use my skills to help you discover the happier relationship that you deserve.

I am working face to face near Dover and via Zoom providing online counselling sessions. Having worked with clients as a Psychotherapist/counsellor for over 15 years it was a big adjustment for me to move to an online way of working but the more I work online the more I realise how many benefits there are to it. Clients are in their own environment and therefore feel more comfortable and timetabling sessions can be slightly easier as none of us has to factor in travel time. I also rent a room in Dover that is wheelchair accessible if necessary.

I offer both online and face to face appointments. Having worked with clients as a Psychotherapist/counsellor for over 15 years moving to online working was a big adjustment for me and my clients. The more I work online the more I realise how many benefits there are to it. Everybody is comfortable in their own environment and timetabling sessions can be slightly easier as none of us has to factor in travel time. The work itself remains the same as the technology allows us all to be in the room together focussing on the relationship. Whilst I know it’s different I’d like to encourage any clients to try it and get help with your relationship without having the anxiety of travel, child care and the pressures of frantic lifestyles.

About me and my therapy practice
I am offering very low cost supervision for counsellors and couples counsellors.
I am an individuals and couples’ counsellor with 18 years experience. After 15 years of working for Relate I now work with both individuals and couples online and face to face in my own private practice based near Dover in Kent. I am currently completing a Level 6 qualification in supervision and am looking for supervisees.

Practice description
I have been very fortunate to have benefitted from excellent working relationships with all my supervisors. I use the template of these relationships for 18 years as experience for my own supervision of supervisees.
Counselling is, for the most part, an individual endeavour. We may have colleagues and other people around us but when we go into the room we are on our own, making our own decisions and thinking on our feet. It can be isolating or even lonely. Supervision is often the only place we can fully explore the work we are doing with our clients.
Even the most experienced therapists need space and time to reflect on their work with clients in order to provide the best possible outcomes and experiences for their clients. Supervision helps me maintain my equilibrium while ensuring I continue to remain curious about what is happening in the counselling room with the client/clients. In turn I aim to help my supervisees explore their work with their clients in a curious and positive way.
Expanding our knowledge, challenging our blind spots and re-considering our clients from new perspectives is how we as counsellors ensure we are working towards our clients’ best outcomes and this is how I try to help my supervisees.
My first session
I would suggest an introductory ‘chemistry’ meeting for about 20 minutes to establish whether we might benefit from working with each other. We can both then ask all the questions we feel relevant and decide whether a supervision session could be useful.
