About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Person-centred Counsellor. I believe in the inherent good of the individual and that we all have the capacity to make changes and take some control over our lives.
Our lives are a complex mix of emotions in regard to our relationships, health and work pressures. I offer you the space and time to offload your worries, step back a little to gain some perspective and start the process of healing from old wounds. I believe we have the 'tools' within us to overcome or get through what life throws at us but these can be 'locked up, by how we have learnt to respond to past situations which may result in feelings of helplessness and despair. Initially we would work on gaining trust in our relationship as therapy can only be effective in a trusting atmosphere.
I offer regualr reviews of our work to monitor progress.
Practice description
I mainly work from premises near my home which is a rural setting, in Icklesham, so independant transport is necessary. One morning a week I work from Tilling Green Community Centre in Rye. I also offer home visits if necessary.
My sessions are 60 mins (75mins for couples) . I offer you a contract which sets out how I work, fees etc.
I offer you a safe, confidential space where I aim to enable you to explore whatever issues you are concerned about at this time. If you struggle to find the words to express this then I would offer you a creative way , inviting you to express your self with art materials, objects or given images. We are naturally creative from birth but ths is often lost during childhood. We are surrounded by images that evoke or provoke emotions and memories and I can support you in exploring your world in this way.
With couples I aim to give you both time to express and explore your relationship from both perspectives, encouraging you to work collaboratively for your future, whatever the outcome.
My first session
For our first session I offer a reduced fee and we would use the time to establish whether you feel comfortable working with me. Any success in therapy is dependant on a trusting and respectful relationship between the client and the therapist. I would encourage you to ask any questions you may have.

About me and my therapy practice
' Supervision - New vision - Over-vision - Re-vision ' Francesca Inskipp, 1999
I use a person-centred approach, aiming to work callaboratively/collegially with you, the practitioner, or with groups. Regular supervision can facilitate much learning and self-awareness in giving you space to reflect, review and renew. This can be a challenging but also a supportive and energising process, building self-confidence in existing skills or expanding your knowledge base.
Practice description
I have a Diploma in Supervision from CSTD, Bath and much experience of clinical supervision from years of work in the NHS and with a local counselling charity.
My work is based on the following models - CLEAR and The Seven-eyed Model (Hawkins and McMahon) The CLEAR model is self-explanatory - Contract, Listen, Explore, Action, Review. The Seven-eyed Model can facilitate a more thorough explanation of the client, their context and the counsellor /client relationship.
As the supervisee I will trust you to ensure you are having adequate supervision for your client work and will be committed to be open and honest about all aspects of that, i.e. what is working well, what is not and be ready to explore any blocks and difficulties. This also may include aspects of our relationship.
Working with groups can facilitate a differnt learning experience in the process of peer supervision, sharing knowledge, wisdom and experience. I would aim to foster a supportive environment, fostering confidence and collaboration.
My first session
In our first session we will explore how best to work together. As you will be aware a trusting and respectful relationship is key to any working alliance.
