About me and my therapy practice

I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor providing support for young people, families and adults.

I am an Integrative Supervisor, specialising in supporting therapist's work with children and young people.

I have worked with many people struggling with anxiety, depression and relationship issues. My work is informed by Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory and Mindfulness.  The approach I use is based on my training in Psychodynamic Counselling, a talking therapy which centres on forming a trusting relationship. I provide a safe space for you to express your thoughts and explore feelings openly. Change takes place as together we experience repeating patterns in your relationships and reflect on the underlying dynamics which are present. I help you make links between what happens in your sessions with me and the way you experience your life and the people in it. By doing this I help you to become more aware of your inner world which can lead to positive changes in your life.

I offer the opportunity to learn and use Mindfulness in our sessions.  Mindfulness can help you accept and manage how you are feeling in an open and realistic way, and improve the way you act in stressful situations.  It can help you to become more able to respond in a conscious manner, rather than to react without thinking.  Clients have told me that Mindfulness practice brings about peacefulness, kindness and happiness. It is particularly effective in supporting you if you are suffering depression, stress or anxiety.

From 2018 - 2020 I was Lecturer on the Therapy courses at the University of Greenwich and wrote their Ecotherapy Unit for them.

If you would like to explore the possibility of counselling, please get in touch. I also provide consultations for parents and school staff if you would like to reflect on a challenging situation.

About me and my therapy practice

The supervision I offer involves a mixture of case discussion, theory, ethics and the personal experience of the supervisee. I see supervision as a co-created enterprise where we negotiate the content of the space together.

I have a private therapy and supervision practice in Muswell Hill, London and in Somerset, near Street, and also work online

I am an Integrative Supervisor and specialise in the supervision of therapeutic work with young people.  In 2019 I qualified with a Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision from Terapia, North London.  I use an integrative perspective which includes the major approaches to child and adolescent psychotherapy and counselling. I also supervise therapists working with adults.

I am an experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist providing support for young people, families, couples and adults, as well as working as a Supervisor.  I have worked with many people struggling with anxiety, depression and relationship issues. My work is informed by Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory and Mindfulness. I have over 13 years of experience working in infant, primary and secondary schools as a school counsellor and play therapist. From 2018 - 2020 I was Lecturer on the Therapy courses at the University of Greenwich and wrote our Ecotherapy unit.

The integrative approach I use in supervision has at its foundation my training in psychodynamic counselling. I provide a safe space for you to express your thoughts and explore feelings and thoughts about your work openly and believe that the development of a trusting relationship between us is central to the work. I offer the opportunity to apply Mindfulness to supervision, which can help you accept and manage how you are feeling about your work in a realistic way.

I offer 50-minute, 60-minute or 90-minute sessions, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, according to your requirements.
