About me and my therapy practice
I am an existential psychotherapist, which means that I employ ideas from existential philosophy to psychotherapy. This involves such themes as: choice; freedom; anxiety; responsibility; and our relationship to others and to the world more broadly. By bringing to light your underlying values and beliefs, and how these inform the way you live, you can become better informed about the choices you make, and how to cope with life's challenges and moments of crisis or difficulty.
I have 20 years of having provided various roles within counselling and psychotherapy, including time spent within the NHS and the charities sector, as well as from my own private practice.
Practice description
All sessions are 50 minutes long, and usually will be at the same allocated time each week. All sessions are held within a boundary of confidentialilty, so that you have the possibility of talking freely about whatever you choose to. I work within the ethical framework of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, and also that of the UKCP, which I am also a member of.
My first session
Therapy, in my view, starts from the very first session, and although this session will provide an opportunity for you to reflect on why it is you are seeking therapy and also to assess whether I am the right therapist for you, it will not be radically different from following sessions.
