About me and my therapy practice

I’m Kathy, a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ-accredited counsellor with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors.

For over 16 years, I worked as a counsellor for the NHS, specialising in supporting individuals and families going through traumatic events, serious illness and bereavement. I’ve helped many navigate the emotional challenges that can accompany a diagnosis of cancer and other life-limiting conditions. Living with uncertainty, a palliative prognosis or dealing with end-of-life situations often brings overwhelming anxiety and a profound sense of loss.

A life-changing experience years ago led me to this career. As a result of this and the quality of the therapy I received, I experienced personal growth, showing me the potential power of therapy in fostering change, growth and healing.

If you’ve been diagnosed with a serious illness or have experienced significant loss, you may feel alone, even amongst family and friends. I am here to help you understand and work through your emotions. You don’t have to face these challenges alone.

My Private practice:

I continue to run my private practice where I offer support for these same challenges, I also assist some clients in navigating other life transitions such as divorce, relationship issues, breakups and job loss.

My practice further extends to working with low self-esteem, self-image issues, loss of identity, lack of confidence, anxiety, panic attacks, self-defeating patterns of behaviour, issues from childhood, and attachment issues within adult relationships.

I describe myself as an integrative counsellor, enabling me to draw from a range of counselling approaches to suit your individual needs.

My first session

I believe that a good connection with your counsellor is key to the quality of the therapy that you receive, that's why I'd like to offer you a complementary 30-minute  introductory session where we can meet face-to-face.

This first session is a gentle step into the process, giving you a chance to see if you feel comfortable with me as your therapist.

It's also an opportunity for us to chat openly about any questions or concerns that you may have about counselling, and for me to understand the issues that you would like to explore and how I can support you.

Whether you decide to continue working with me, or feel that another counsellor might be a better fit, rest assured that there will be no obligation for you to book another appointment.
