About me and my therapy practice
We pretty much all will become stuck on some work or personal related matter, in a lives. I work collaboratively helping in structuring people back to a more sustainable way of living.
Coming from a military/business background in the City, I believe I have a good understanding of the management for stress, addictions, depression, anxiety and phobias. I also work closely with couples and colleagues with relationship issues at home and in the work place.
I work extensively within the neurodiverse community: ADHD, ADD, ASD…etc..from my offices in London and Chester.
Formative working background:
Royal Navy (Submarines)
Managing Director - Public Company (13yrs)
Retrained into psychotherapy (CBT & EMDR) 20yrs ago
EAP on-behalf-of: AXA HealthCare, BUPA, AVIVA, WPA, Allianz, CIGNA…and others.
Certified Coach (HeartMath), Company Mentor
Resident Psychotherapist in Canary Wharf for one major PLc
Practice in Chester, Cheshire on a Monday and Friday
Practice description
I genuinely enjoy what I do with and for my clients.
Located on the outskirts of Chester, within a popular shopping centre, makes for ease of access, free parking and a high degree of anonymity.
Coming from a military and commercial background, I have a fairly direct approach to my clinical practice. I believe I’m an agent for change, and change is effectively what my clients commission me to help them with. I’m solution focused in my approach, although sometimes clients just want me to listen, nothing more.
My approach is 360 degrees, meaning I not only consider psychological matters, but also biological and sociological approaches to solutions. Often, I’m communicating with GP’s and other psychological services, advocating on-behalf-of my clients, for better outcomes to presenting sysmptoms. I also liaise with employer HR departments on matters of policy and return to work initiatives. All with your express permission.
My approach integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to what works best for you, rather than one size (approach) suits all. Sometimes CBT is better, others EMDR more so for trauma, with HeartMaths (HRV) for relaxation and stress reduction techniques (very scientific).
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Business coaching, Cancer, Career coaching, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Coaching supervision, Cultural issues, Depression, Development coaching, Disability, Eating disorders, Executive coaching, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Leadership coaching, Life coaching, Loss, Men's issues, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Service veterans, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
