About me and my therapy practice

I am a HCPC-registered counselling psychologist with experience working in the NHS, third-sector and educational settings. I work with a wide range of life difficulties, such as burnout, depression, anxiety, anger, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), self-esteem issues, childhood abuse and trauma, bereavement, cultural and identity issues, long-term health conditions, student mental health, key workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and those who work in the performing arts/entertainment industry.

I work integratively, which means I draw on a number of models to help you make sense of your difficulties. I also work with dream and art interpretation. My primary models are psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural therapy. I also use elements of person-centred therapy.

Practice description

My practice is online only. I offer short- and long-term therapy by Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom video. I aim to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can talk about issues which you feel are impacting your wellbeing.

Whether it is making sense of a significant event in your life, finding ways to increase your self-confidence, exploring difficulties in relationships with friends, family or colleagues, or understanding an issue which may have been unaddressed for years, together we can explore ways for you to move forward with your life. However, please note that any meaningful change from therapy requires commitment, as it is not a quick fix.

My first session

I will contact you for a 25 minute informal chat via telephone or video to understand your therapeutic needs and answer any questions you may have. If you decide to proceed with therapy, I will then send you a contract and a questionnaire to assess your mood and risk prior to our first session.

About me and my therapy practice

My supervision style is primarily psychodynamic, but I also work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and person-centred models. My focus is on the development of the individual in a wider context as well as the problem itself. I use a combination of exploratory, psychoeducational and problem-solving techniques to help supervisees gain a better understanding of the presenting issues of their clients.
