About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Caroline,

Welcome to my profile

Taking the first step to find support is a courageous one! As a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist I am aware of the impact of early childhood experiences, how these can have an impact on your life. Quite often childhood experiences can feel traumatic especially if you have not had the space to be heard or had the opportunity to explore and understand difficult feelings.

I have extensive experience working with adults, young people and children. Having worked with clients suffering with: Depression, Addiction, Grief, Anxiety and Relationship Issues

Personal challenges in one's life can cause a great sense of loss and anxiety.  Through working together, you will gain more awareness and insight to the root of your pain.

We have been living in uncertain times, this uncertainty may cause us more anxiety and stress. When we feel insecure other anxieties from our past may emerge.  Counselling is a space to explore the challenges that may be affecting you whilst gaining more awareness and insight about your past.

If you choose to have therapy with me, I will provide you with a confidential space where you will have the opportunity to work at your own pace and work through your internal struggles.  Early experiences will have a huge impact in how we behave in adulthood.  Current behaviour patterns as coping mechanisms may become more problematic, and you may wish to have support to deal with them.

Practice description

Together we can explore the issues that have prompted you to seek counselling. Also to reflect and make sense of some of the deeper issues that may be affecting your life negatively in adulthood. We can all, at times recreate negative cycles and patterns of behaviour that cause us emotional pain.

Understanding and working through earlier experiences can be the key to emotional resilience, empowerment and positive change.

  • I also offer short term work- Solution Focus with CBT techniques to help if you are feeling trapped or stuck in a cycle of worrying thoughts and feelings that may be distressing and causing difficulty your everyday life.

My first session

The initial assessment is for 60 minutes (£70)

Ongoing weekly counselling session is £60 for 50 mins.

The assessment is an opportunity for me to find out a little more about you and also for me to see if this is the right therapy for you. More importantly this is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions about this type of therapy and see if you feel comfortable to work with me.
