About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for visiting my page. I am a qualified and accredited Integrative Counsellor & Supervisor based in London. I provide private counselling and clinical supervision in person and remote (Zoom, Teams & Skype).
One to one Counselling:
You may be feeling anxious or uncertain about the next direction in your life or, you do not understand the reason for some of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Often, and quite naturally we can push what we consider unacceptable experiences, thoughts and feelings to the back of our mind, with the hope that they will go away, leaving them unresolved. Like anything unresolved these things usually have a way of coming back and influencing how we feel about ourselves and our relationships.
There is usually an expectation during these difficult times that we should not be feeling the things we are feeling or, that we should be "strong". But what does that mean? And how can I be strong when I don't feel that way?
This is where counselling can be used to understand and find our own answers to the challenges that we are facing. Whatever your reason for seeking out counselling I am here to offer my services in an honest, non-judgemental, confidential and safe environment.
Supervision:
I am trained Integrative Supervisor, experienced in providing one to one and group supervision, working with trainees and experienced professionals, from a wide variety of therapeutic models and backgrounds.
I work with Counsellors and Psychotherapists in private practice and in employment within organisations such as the NHS, Health and social care services, charities and university counselling services. This includes facilitating counsellors and psychotherapists through accreditation processes.
The supervision space is confidential, non-judgemental and aims to be both supportive and restorative
Practice description
As an integrative counsellor I am able to draw on knowledge and skills from various therapeutic approaches based on your individual circumstances in order to provide the most effective and personalised therapy for your needs.
Holding in mind that the counselling sessions are for you I maintain an open minded, non-judgemental, respectful and collaborative approach. The main aim is that you do not have to face your difficulties alone and to use my training and skills to work with you at the pace, and depth that is appropriate for you to work through the challenges you are experiencing in order to feel more empowered within yourself and your life.
My work is underpinned with the belief and experience that we all have the capacity to be in control of ourselves and our choices. I work with you to understand what is really affecting you in the here and now and importantly we can look at how you can take back control and move forward.
I have worked successfully with a diverse group of clients from many cultural and socioeconomic background with a wide variety of issues.
My first session
Our first meeting gives us an opportunity to learn more about you, your experiences, the specific difficulties you are facing and how they are currently affecting you. Because we are all unique individuals, the idea is to get an understanding of you as a whole person and not to define you by said difficulties.
The aim will be to understand together what is most important for you and what you want to focus on e.g. what are the source(s) of your difficulties? What is the impact and cost to you? And what do you want to be different?
We will collaboratively look at how you want to work together, your expectations and your preferences. It is also an opportunity to decide together what are the next steps you would like to take regarding counselling.
