About me and my therapy practice
I offer individuals a warm, caring and compassionate therapeutic environment where you will feel safe and not judged. Relationships are fundamental to human existence and can be the root cause of problems, past and present. In a confidential setting, I will listen, support and guide you in understanding your experiences and developing a more coherent sense of self. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Senior Accredited, I am an experienced integrative counsellor, drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred theories as well as other approaches, depending on what is right for you at the time. I am also a Senior Accredited Member and Accredited Supervisor with the NCIP. In my private practice, as well as offering counselling, I am a supervisor on an individual and group basis to counsellors and psychotherapists working for mental health and counselling charities, schools, and the helping professions. Reduced rates are offered for trainees in counselling and supervision, and I am BUPA recognised for counselling.
Practice description
My practice is based in my home in a quiet, safe, and comfortable setting with parking. I offer face to face, Zoom, and on the telephone sessions with the option of Zoom or on the telephone if you are unable to attend in person for a session.
My first session
It takes much courage to come to counselling and is the first step towards understanding and helping yourself. Our first session together is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, exploring in confidence what your expectations are from the counselling process. It also takes the form of an informal assessment to cover the necessary administrative information.
Hopefully our therapeutic relationship will begin to develop through the session and we will go through a working agreement which outlines confidentiality, the number of sessions, fees etc.
The session is 50 minutes, the therapeutic hour. It is important to go at your pace and that you have the opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns and fears you may have about therapy. If there is time, there will be an opportunity for us to focus on any issues that can be addressed with immediate tools for you to take away.
