About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling to cope at the moment? Do you feel anxious, confused, overwhelmed or that life is out of control? Are your stuck in patterns of unhelpful behaviour? Have you experienced loss, trauma or bereavement?

Do you need someone to really listen to you, without judgment?

If so, I may be able to help by offering you the time and space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe, confidential and supportive environment. I can help you to feel hopeful again and make changes to help you to manage life's challenges and move forward.

I offer a FREE, no-obligation consultation, which allows us to decide together if I can meet your needs and how best to tailor the therapy to your individual situation. This can be brief solution-focused therapy or more traditional medium to long-term counselling. I tailor my approach to your specific needs and can incorporate CBT, transactional analysis, gestalt therapy, NLP and solution focused therapy. I have completed additional training in Trauma Informed Therapy.

You bring concerns, worries, phobias, unhelpful behaviours, confusion, anxiety or trauma. I provide time, space, warmth, empathy, respect, experience, open-mindedness, independence and confidentiality.

My counselling rooms are in central Chichester, just a few steps from the main shopping streets and Cathedral. They are accessible to those with limited mobility and wheelchair users. I also offer Zoom/telephone sessions.

I look forward to welcoming you.

Practice description

I have been practicing as a counsellor and supervisor for over 17 years, initially with the NHS and then in private practice. In that time, I have worked with a large variety of clients, some long-term, some short-term. The issues brought to me have been equally wide-ranging but in all cases, I have offered empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard.

My first session

In our introductory discussion (usually on the telephone), I will explain how I work and you can tell me what you are looking for from therapy. I can answer any questions you may have about what to expect from the process.

We can then decide between us if we feel we could work well together and, if so, set a date for your first session. This can be in person or via Zoom/telephone, whichever works best for you.

There is no charge for the introductory consultation, thereafter my fee is £50 per session or the agreed discounted rate.
