About me and my therapy practice

For 14 years I have been a full time Psychotherapist, Family Practitioner, Clinical Supervisor, NVR parenting programme lead and accredited member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ) and member of AFT (Association of Family Therapy). I base my practice on working with the internal world of the client to facilitate personal growth and reach their goals. I am able to adapt my knowledge in different theoretical approaches to meet my clients presenting issues. Together client and therapist can identify triggers to negative thoughts, unhelpful narratives and relationship/ family cycles which may be effecting the here and now. I believe in understanding what motivates our behaviour rather than treating it without the understanding of why it manifested. My systemic training enables me to work with family based issues both past and present.

My face to face work is based in Dulwich and I also work online. I keep my therapeutic knowledge up to date revolving with world around me.

I have taught counselling students in their 1st year of counselling training but now I privately supervise trainees. I am a published author. You can find my published papers on the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ website and within AFT context magazine. I supervisee a number of charities and school offering mental health support.

About me and my therapy practice

For the past 12 years, I have dedicated myself to the supervision of counsellors and psychotherapists across a variety of modalities and areas. My work is evenly split between supervision and client-based services, reflecting my deep commitment to both facets of psychological support.

My expertise not only encompasses the supervision of therapeutic practices but also extends to providing critical insights into the establishment and management of private practices. I have a profound understanding of the complexities involved in setting up and running a private practice, from the benefits and challenges therapists face to the detailed intricacies of business management, ethical considerations, and the dynamics between clients and therapists in private settings.

My supervisory approach is underpinned by Inskipp and Proctor's model, which outlines the supervisor's role through three fundamental functions: Normative, Formative, and Restorative. By integrating systemic methodologies into my supervision, I create a nurturing environment that encourages therapists to develop comprehensive perspectives and strategies, enabling them to meet a wide array of client needs effectively. My ability to work with diverse client groups underscores my versatility and expertise in the field.

As a supervisor, I place a strong emphasis on continuous learning and personal development. I encourage therapists to explore and refine their therapeutic styles, fostering a culture of innovation and growth. My dedication to the profession and my passion for mentorship have established me as a respected figure within the therapeutic community. I have secured contracts with local authorities and charities, further solidifying my reputation.

Throughout my career, I have also contributed as a tutor, delivering CPCAB courses and supervising trainees from several training schools. My capacity to bridge theory with practice enriches my supervision, making it both comprehensive and practically relevant.
