About me and my therapy practice
Our sense of wellbeing is determined by a solid sense of self, connectedness and by how we navigate change and disruption.
Practicing since 2008, I am an experienced individual therapist. MyTherapy was founded in 2020 and focuses on difficulties with identity, life changes and relating, which anxiety, depression, worry, stress, or low mood are often linked to.
Identity - Transitions - Relating
Relationships are complex. MyTherapy welcomes anyone who struggles with establishing, maintaining, or ending an important relationship.
Life Transitions are periods in life involving lots of change. They might be a result of important events that make you stop and evaluate your life, or they may be more gradual. Life Changes can run smoothly but people often struggle and find these periods of life stressful and disorientating.
Identity describes your sense of Who you Are. You may
• find it difficult to understand yourself, feel ashamed, different, or lack confidence. You may feel anxious or nervous in social situations, experience low mood, depression, and stress.
• feel external pressure to conform, discrimination, and rejection on grounds of who you are, how you identify or what choices you make.
• experience yourself as dependent on others or find yourself preoccupied with what others may think of you.
You can rest assured that I will take your worries seriously and that you and your problems matter.
Practice description
In my practice, I work with individual clients.
Developing a trusting, warm and reliable therapeutic relationship, which is empathic and authentic, is important to me. You will be listened to without judgment.
My style of therapy is conversational and will focus on
• identifying and communicating your wishes and needs.
• becoming more playful and creative in approaching difficulties.
• increasing your understanding of yourself and of your relationships.
• exploring ways to move towards developing purpose and perspective.
As with many things in life, the first step into therapy is often the most difficult. It is the start of a new chapter and therapy means that you do not walk this journey alone.
Step 1 - Contact me to ask any questions you may have about therapy
Step 2 - Book an Initial Consultation
Step 3 - Decide whether you would like to start therapy with me
Therapy can be long-term or time limited depending on your preference.
My first session
The first session will be an initial consultation.
We can discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. You might be worried about feeling exposed. I will not ask you to share what you feel uncomfortable talking about, you alone determine what feels right.
Sessions take place in person and online.
