About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Senior Accredited therapist who has worked extensively with bereavement, loss and ending issues, both as a volunteer with a bereavement charity and in my own private practice.

Often, people feel that they are getting grief 'wrong' or feel concerned about being overwhelmed by grief. I work with my clients on helping them to work out their own individual way of grieving and also support them in their grief feeling more manageable.

As a person-centred counsellor, my core belief is that having a confidential space to talk, in which you feel that you are being genuinely listened to and can say what you honestly think without being judged, can really help you work through the issues that you are facing. It doesn’t sound very scientific or ground-breaking I know, but I know from experience that it works.

I'm very much client led, which doesn't mean that I say nothing/am passive, but it does mean that I don't direct or lead the sessions.

I work from a room in central Oxford, conveniently located near the train station with car parking nearby. I also work online.

Practice description

I specialise in bereavement, loss and endings, whether these relate to death, a relationship ending, illness or any other life changes.

If you are unsure about counselling, I offer non-obligatory introductory sessions at a reduced rate of £20.00 for a 50 minute session. At this session, we will talk about what you would like to get out of sessions and if you decide to continue, we will then meet once a week for 50 minutes.

My first session

At our first session, we'll meet for 50 mins and the focus of the session will be on finding out more about your decision to seek out therapy, plus what you want to get from counselling (your goals), as well as your support network.

I only charge £20 for an introductory session as I think that it's really important that you have a low-cost opportunity to work out whether you think that we can work together.
