About me and my therapy practice
I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited counsellor and hold an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also have a Certificate in Developing Supervision Practice from Strathclyde University (2013) and a NES Generic Supervision Certificate (2013). I work using the person-centred approach. I have experience in supervising counsellors at various stages of their development, working privately, within organisations and charities. In my work as a supervisior I draw from the Cyclical Model (Page & Woskit, 2001), The seven eyed process model (Hawkins & Shohet, 2012) and the Intergrated Development Model (Stolenberg & Delworth, 1987).
Working full time as a counsellor and supervisor, I currently divide my working time between my own private practice (3 days) and working within NHS Psychological Services (2 days). In my counselling role with the NHS I work with adults. In my private work I work with young people, adults and couples. The issues clients bring vary i.e. bereavement, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, relationships, gender, abuse, trauma, stress and many more. Prior to working in private practice I managed a children and young person’s service for 5 years. I also worked as a counsellor specialising in young people and workplace counselling for adults.
I am passionate about supervision and strive to provide a creative, appropriately challenging and supportive space where supervisees can explore and reflect on their work with clients and on their therapeutic relationships. I work collaboratively with supervisees to encourage reflective and ethical practice.
