About me and my therapy practice
Working online as a counsellor, I view the relationship that is created between the therapist and client to be of utmost importance. I aim to put clients at ease as they talk about their issues so that they feel both connected and understood. In this safe setting relief and healing can occur. Therapy can be brief in its nature or longer term. I use the counselling skills that I have acquired from working for over 15 years in the NHS as a senior counsellor.
Practice description
As well as forming a strong relational alliance with my clients, I embrace a variety of theoretical approaches to support my work. Sometimes this will be explicit and explained to clients to assist their understanding, other times I may hold this in the background to help me decide on the best course of action in my work with a client. Some but not all of the models I use are attachment theory, grieving models, trauma and debriefing models, psychodynamic theories including notions of projection and countertransference, cognitive behavioural approaches, transactional analysis, psychosocial developmental models etc.
I have had the privilege of clinically working with a wide range of presentations including depression, anxiety, complicated grief, trauma, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, adjustment to loss, stress and burnout, bullying, low self esteem, gender issues, eating disorders and OCD and of working with disabilities and ASD.
Currently my caseload consists of clients with Autism and ADHD and clients affected by narcissitic parents/partners and by parental alienation.
I have taught counselling at both diploma and certificate level at Colleges of Education.
My first session
The first session I see is an opportunity for you to check me out. I will be asking questions about your circumstances, to see if I am the right person to help you, however this is an opportunity in which you can decide as to whether you feel comfortable and wish to continue to work with me. For this reason I do not charge for the first session.

About me and my therapy practice
With thousands of hours of supervisor experience from working in the NHS I aim to supervise in a manner that is supportive, developmental, insightful and reflective with an overall aim to optimise the quality of work being offered to the client, enhance the skills and development of the counsellor and maintain the wellbeing of the counsellor.
My own humanistic relational approach allows me to recognise and accommodate the variety theoretical models that supervisees subscribe to.
I have assisted many supervisees to achieve Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accreditation.
Practice description
I aim to provide in supervision, a safe place. This is somewhere that the supervisee can bring themselves, unpack and show their client work, talk about the impact on them, discuss why they chose to do what they did. To talk about their training and development, their hopes and aspirations for the future, the hurdles that might be on the way. To talk about work place or training course dynamics and how it affects them in their processes as a counsellor. To talk about personal material, such as health, family, relationships and bereavement, as to how these may affect their work as a counsellor.
My first session
The first session is a tentative meeting and an opportunity of the prospective supervisee to see if they would like to work with me as their supervisor. If they choose to engage me than we will carry on contracting and agreeing on issues such as confidentiality.
