About me and my therapy practice

I am committed to working with you at your own pace, in a non-judgmental way, and to building a trusting relationship where you feel truly heard. Whether you're seeking short-term or long-term support, I offer flexible therapy sessions tailored to your unique needs. With trauma-informed training, I understand how past experiences shape your present emotional well-being.

Having volunteered for many years with a Bereavement charity and a Women’s Centre supporting survivors of domestic violence, I have a deep understanding of the challenges people face. Loss can deeply affect both life and mental health. Domestic violence and early childhood trauma can have long-lasting impacts, and at times, we need support to work through these experiences and develop healthier ways of coping and healing.

Practice description

I am a qualified Humanistic and integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist (BA Hons) providing online therapy, in a compassionate, warm, safe, and non-judgmental space, supporting you to explore your thoughts and feelings, overcome challenges.

I'm here to support you through life's challenges with a client-centered approach, helping you to gain insight, emotional clarity, and personal growth at your own pace.

To make sure we're the right fit for each other, i offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation. This is a relaxed opportunity for us to discuss your needs, any concerns you're facing, and how we could work together to help you move forward.  It's a also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how therapy might support you on your journey.

I specialise in helping individuals through a range of issues such as childhood attachment issues/trauma, bereavement, and domestic violence.

I truly believe that with the right support, you can heal, break free from old patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change. My approach is warm and compassionate, empowering you to build self-awareness, encourage healthier relationships, and find a sense of inner peace and well-being.

If you would like some support, please give me a call on 07588161155 or drop me an email carliemaflin@btinternet.com

My first session

The initial session offers an opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling, explore your goals, and address any questions about the process.

It allows you to share background information at your level of comfort while I explain my approach.

This initial session helps us see how it feels to work together, laying the foundation for trust and a strong therapeutic relationship to our work.

During this session we can also take care of any necessary paperwork. It's a simple process, and once it's completed, we can focus on whatever feels most important for you to talk about and explore.
