About me and my therapy practice
My name is Jessica Woolley and I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor based in Bishop's Cleeve Cheltenham.
My passionate lies in working together with individuals on their journey towards emotional well-being, providing a non-judgmental, empathetic, and confidential space.
I recognise the numerous transitions and challenges life can present and I am committed to supporting you with compassion, empathy, and professional expertise.
My approach to therapy is holistic, blending various therapeutic modalities. Working in this integrative way enables a fluid approach which can adapt to the needs, experiences and personalities of each client.
Practice description
Having experienced personal therapy myself I appreciate how daunting it may feel when taking the first steps into counselling. Creating a safe environment and building an open and honest therapeutic relationship is therefore extremely important to me and how I choose to practice.
My work in the voluntary sector prior to establishing my private practice, has enriched my skills and deepened my understanding of the human experience. As an outreach worker, I gained valuable insights into the complexities of relationship dynamics, domestic and sexual violence, substance misuse, and addictive behaviours. This work has been profoundly impactful, shaping my empathetic approach to counselling. I also have specialised training in the cycle of abuse and the emotional effects of abusive relationships.
Counselling can help you navigate personal challenges and improve your mental health through supportive and therapeutic interactions.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, seeking personal growth, or dealing with past trauma, I can offer a secure, supportive, and confidential environment to explore and express your feelings.
My first session
In your first counselling session, the focus will be on making you feel comfortable and starting to understand your needs. Here's what you can expect:
Introduction: I'll tell you a bit about myself and how I work.
Confidentiality: We'll go over how your privacy is protected and when I might need to break confidentiality.
Your Story: You'll have the chance to share why you're here and what's been going on.
Background: I'll ask about your personal history and current situation to get a better sense of your life.
Hopes: We'll talk about what you hope to get out of counselling.
Questions: You can ask me anything you want, whether it's about the process or any worries you have.
