About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for visiting my profile.
Seeking help can be daunting and feel uncomfortable. I recognise the courage it takes and I want to reassure you that I will support you with a compassionate, non-judgemental approach that gives you a safe space to be heard and explore your thoughts and feelings.
My approach gently encourages people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, others and of the challenging situations they face. Processing our experiences and reflecting on what they mean for us can reveal how they influence us in daily life and gradually develops self-awareness, resilience, and the confidence to find helpful ways of coping. It can be emotionally challenging but also very rewarding.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with a wide range of experience working with clients within the NHS, mental health charities, employee assistance programmes, university mental health services and through my private practice.
Trying to find the right therapist can be daunting. My website provides some tips on things that are helpful to think about and explains the therapeutic approaches that I am trained in.
Practice description
I hold an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BSc in Psychology.
Integrative therapy combines evidenced-based theories and techniques such as cognitive, psychodynamic and humanistic therapy to create a personalised treatment plan that responds to your needs and wishes.
It might include person-centred approaches that explore influences on our sense of self and our potential; cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) can reveal the origins of patterns of thoughts and behaviour that can be helpful to understand; and attachment theory explores how relationships can shape our view of ourself, others and the world around us, building awareness of why we might respond in particular ways in our work, home and social life.
You may have heard of trauma-informed approaches, compassion-focussed therapy, and mindfulness and stabilisation. I combine elements of these to help clients develop the ability to self-soothe and recognise the mind-body connection and the impact that our mental health has on this.
My first session
You need to know if your therapist is the right fit for you.
I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation.
If you wish to proceed then a 60 minute consultation is £25.00.
This gives you a chance to explain your needs and your situation. I will advise on how therapy might help, what to expect and help you to choose the best approach based on your preferences.
If you then decide to engage in therapy with me each 60 minute session is £50.00
