About me and my therapy practice
If you have found yourself on this page, it might mean that life is possibly a bit challenging now or has been for some time. This may be the first time that you have explored the idea of counselling and not sure if it is for you. I am interested to know more about you and what brought you here. You may be feeling overwhelmed, confused, sad or at a point of change in your life and feel that talking to someone may help you to gain some insights and clarity. You have come to the right place and together we can work towards making sense of what is going on for you. This is a safe, professional, confidential, and non- judgemental space for women and men to talk freely. I offer short-term therapy for a specific problem or life event, or longer-term open-ended therapy with the aim towards deepening your understanding and acceptance of yourself and others.
I work in person at a therapeutic practice in Bishop's Stortford and online for those who prefer the convenience.
I have an accredited Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ BSc (Hons) counselling degree from the university of East London. I am an integrative practitioner which means I am trained in different theoretical approaches, which I can tailor to your specific needs. The approaches that inform most of my work are Person centred, Existentialism, CBT and Psychodynamic. I work to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ ethical framework for the counselling professions and am continually enhancing my knowledge through continued personal and professional development. I have a relaxed approach and encourage you to be yourself. I understand that talking to a stranger is a daunting prospect, but through my caring, gentle, and warm approach, with a hint of good humour, you will find that it is possible to share your experiences and start to make sense of your feelings.
Practice description
I have extensive experience working specifically with clients who are experiencing difficulties connected with pregnancy, pregnancy loss, fertility treatments, infertility, involuntary childlessness and early years parenting and related issues. Through this work I have had many hours of training which is supplementary to my counselling degree which includes Trauma, IVF, Polycystic ovary syndrome, Miscarriage, Baby loss and the work of SANDS, Grief and Bereavement and Birth trauma. For those who have or are experiencing any of these difficulties I understand how isolating and intolerable it can be and the pressures it can place on relationships. With my support, together we can explore your feelings and emotions to make sense of and understand what you are experiencing. I can also help with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationships, self-esteem, stress, trauma, menopause and all its related symptoms.
My first session
I offer a free initial 20-minute consultation via zoom or telephone as it is important that you find the right counsellor for you and that we are comfortable with each other. We will explore what it is that has brought you to counselling, what you hope to achieve and how we can address this in our work together.
Each session is 50 minutes and are offered on the same day and time each week, Sessions are offered initially on a six-week basis and can be extended by mutual agreement. My fees are £60 per counselling hour, which is 50 minutes. Concessions are available on request.
