About me and my therapy practice

Whether you are going through a difficult time due to a specific event or you are feeling a bit low in general can mean that we feel less resilient, less able to meet challenges. We all need a little help from time to time. Feeling anxious, stressed, isolated or depressed can have a very damaging effect on our lives and seeking therapy is the first step towards change. 


It is my aim to provide you with a safe, supportive, compassionate and confidential space that enables you to better understand your feelings or the specific situation that is making you feel unhappy, lost or unsafe. 

With any counsellor/client relationship, the key thing is the relationship itself. It is knowing that you have that emotional support that can spur you on to change how you feel - for the better.  I believe that clients and therapists work in collaboration with each other to improve clients' well-being and quality of life. 

Therapy can be very effective in increasing confidence, acceptance and self-awareness. We will do that by looking at your present and past feelings and behaviours, which can in turn help to move towards a better future. 

I have worked in a variety of settings, both clinical and educational, working with adults and young adults. 



Practice description

I work in a safe, secure and non-judgemental way, ensuring that your emotional needs are my priority. I offer you a warm, accepting and secure place where you can explore your issues and talk about what is getting in the way of you living a full and happy life. 

Whilst therapy itself can be extremely healing, I believe that it is the work that happens between sessions that is even more important. By working closely together to look at strategies, we can ensure you have the confidence to make lasting changes to your life. 

My first session

I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation to see whether we are the right fit. Following that, we will have a first session where I will do a brief assessment to get an overview of the issue(s) you want to bring to therapy.
