About me and my therapy practice
My main aim as a therapist is to help you understand and accept yourself and to feel connected to your feelings and authentic desires for life. We can do this in a number of ways:
- Processing difficult experiences from the past
- Looking at patterns in your life and where they come from
- Exploring what is blocking you from doing what you want
- Noticing what it feels like in our relationship and how that might relate to other relationships in your life
- Doing creative experiments to explore your experience and test out different ways of being
- Exploring different parts of yourself that may contradict each other
- Tuning into physical sensations in your body and what they might mean
- Exploring how your desires or ways of being may differ from social norms and expectations and what impact that has on you
How we work together will depend entirely on what feels right and helpful to you; and what you want to get out of therapy. The most important thing is that we build a safe and trusting relationship and then we can take it from there.
