About me and my therapy practice
Navigating life's challenges can be tough, but whether it is from my private office in Central Chichester, or online, I can offer you a space, where you're free to express your emotions, a place where you're listened to and supported, when change feels too difficult to achieve alone.
As a Person-Centred Therapist I hold a firm belief that each of us possesses the inner strength and resilience necessary to overcome the hurdles we face, and that we are inherently driven to grow and realise our full potential, but in times of difficulty it can be hard to harness this alone.
I too, once stood where you stand now. I felt isolated and overwhelmed as I grappled with a chronic health condition, relationship struggles, depression, and grief. Yet, I discovered solace in talking therapy. It provided a space to express myself, to view circumstances from various angles, comprehend my triggers, and the depth and origins of my emotions. It also helped me to understand the wider effects they had on my life, relationships, and long-term aspirations.
As a fully trained professional, I can provide you a safe environment to delve into your personal challenges. Every session is a precious chance to pause from life's rapid pace and the pressures of society, work and relationships, allowing you to concentrate on yourself.
Practice description
I work in-person at my private office in central Chichester, which has good parking and public transport links. I also work online with clients, offering greater accessibility, the ability to fit in with busy and varied lifestyles; breaking down potential geographical and logistical barriers.
I have experience of working and volunteering for various charities, and Secondary, Further and Higher Education. Following this, I trained as a counsellor, working with both adults and young people (14+).
Having previously trained and worked with the charity NCT (National Childbirth Trust), an area of particular interest has always been in supporting parents and parents to be, during the perinatal period, who may have experienced perinatal depression, birth trauma, or bereavement, and those navigating family life. I also have additional baby loss and bereavement training through the charity SANDS.
I continually invest in my personal and professional growth to guarantee that I can provide the highest quality, most knowledgeable therapy. I stay current by keeping up with relevant research papers and by attending trainings, seminars, and conferences. Some other areas of additional training I have undertaken include, Neurodiversity, Grief, Children and Young People, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Self Harm and Suicide and PREVENT.
