About me and my therapy practice

I enjoy working with people and helping them work towards achieving their goals, it is fulfilling to hear when clients have found the counselling process beneficial when going through difficult times in their life, or they have discovered the tools to feel empowered and ready to move forward.  I have been described by others as empathetic, kind and a good listener.

As a Registered Qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I have extensive experience working within the public sector but I also have experience working within the education sector,  so I am used to working with people from all different backgrounds.

This experience has lead me to take an interest in the importance of Neurodiversity and how people see the world a little differently, I hold a safe and non judgemental space for those who are diagnosed or feel they are on the Autistic or ADHD spectrum.

I also am knowledgeable in the subject of Clinical NPD, and how people who display many traits of this particular disorder can have a detrimental effect on others lives,  gaining knowledge in this area has enabled me to have a deeper understanding to support those clients who experience Narcissistic abuse.

Experiencing difficulties in life can stem from a variety of issues, emotions can feel overwhelming and have an impact on how you feel and live your life, so having the space in therapy to explore and reflect on your feelings/thoughts, releasing them from your mind can feel freeing, bringing a sense of clarity, awareness and new perspective, as a result, this can help build inner strength and peace enabling you to cope better with your daily life and feel more content and balanced.

Practice description

I offer a warm, non judgemental and confidential environment, where you are welcome to share any issues that are on your mind, exploring them at your own pace.

I work with clients using the integrative approach which means I am able to draw from different modalities such as CBT, Psychodynamic and Person centred, I combine these to assist clients and their individual presenting issues, implementing them when needed.

My first session

I offer an initial no obligation free 20 minute consultation over the phone or via video call, this is so I can get to know a little more about you and what brings you to therapy, it also gives you a chance to ask me any questions, and to inform you about the way I work so you can decide if I'm someone you would like to work with in the future.

I understand how daunting it can feel for some clients to open up about their issues with someone new, (especially if you have not previously had counselling before or you have lost your trust in people)  so I believe it is important for you as the client to feel you are in a safe trusting environment and that you feel genuinely heard and understood, helping you to feel valued and supported because your wellbeing is important, and what you are going through matters.

The first session is about getting to know you, hearing how your feeling, it is about what you feel comfortable with sharing, and talking about issues at your own pace.
