About me and my therapy practice
When searching for a counsellor, it's essential to find someone who appreciates your individual experiences and helps you feel safe and secure. I offer an empathetic, non-judgmental space where you can freely discuss your concerns and challenges. Whether you're dealing with depression, bereavement, anxiety, or loneliness, facing these struggles by yourself can be overwhelming.
My goal is to help you unravel the difficulties you're facing, find clearness, and create space for positive change. I know that moving into therapy can stir up a range of emotions, and each person’s experience will be unique. I’m here to support you as you take that step.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, meaning I adapt my methods to suit your individual needs. I might incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you recognise patterns in your thoughts and behaviours, or I might use a Psychodynamic approach to explore how past experiences shape your current relationships and emotional well-being. Additionally, I draw from person-centred techniques, focusing on empathy, warmth, and putting your needs at the forefront of our sessions.
Therapy is a collaborative journey, where you actively contribute to your healing and progress. By creating a safe and candid space, I aim to support you in exploring and overcoming the issues that are affecting you. Together, we’ll ensure your sessions are helpful and personalised to your unique needs.
Practice description
I currently offer in-person, face-to-face counselling sessions in Market Harborough. This venue provides a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment, conveniently located within walking distance of local train stations.
I also offer online and telephone sessions, providing flexibility to suit your lifestyle and preferences. While online therapy differs from in-person sessions, it is still highly effective and offers a confidential and secure space for you to feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings. During our initial consultation, we can discuss any concerns or challenges you may have about working online to ensure it meets your needs.
My first session
I offer all prospective clients a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss how I may be able to support you. From there, we can arrange a mutually convenient time for an initial 50-minute session.
The initial session is a chance for us to collaboratively explore how we might work together, clarify your expectations, and identify your desired outcomes from therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the process. My top priority is to provide a safe and supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and respected.
Before our first session, I will provide you with my Client Agreement. This document outline important aspects of our work together, and any questions or concerns you may have can be addressed during the session. Throughout our time together, I will regularly check in with you to ensure you feel comfortable and that our work remains focused on your needs and best interests.
