About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome!

I have experience working on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, body image, and relationship difficulties, and have had training specifically in working with the LGBTQ+ community. As a bisexual therapist, this is an area I feel particularly passionate about, as I know how isolating it can be to go to a therapist who isn't aware of different issues facing LGBTQ+ people.

I work primarily from a person-centred approach, and incorporate aspects of other types of therapy, depending on the requirements of each client. I know some people find sitting in silence and having to be the one leading the session quite difficult, while others prefer that. Everyone is individual, so I'll work with you to see what works best for you.

With LGBTQ+ clients, there may be specific issues related to your sexual orientation or gender identity - or maybe you need therapy for something completely unrelated, but want to know that you're in a safe space and your experiences and identity will be validated.

Practice description

I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions. Each session will last 50 minutes.

Sessions are:

  • In-person in my therapy room at Abbey Place Clinic, Faversham

  • Online

  • Hybrid - a combination of in-person and online

Starting therapy can be scary and nerve racking, and finding a therapist who is a good fit is crucial. I offer a free introductory 30 minute call, usually online or over the phone, so you can ask any questions you may have.

My first session

In the first session, the main focus will be on us getting to know each other. I will ask some questions to find out if you've had therapy before (and if so, how it was for you) and what has brought you to therapy now.

We will talk about what your goals are from therapy, and if you have any specific requirements or requests for sessions. We'll also talk through how I work, and I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
