About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Amy and I am an experienced play therapist and mental health support worker with children and young people aged 4-14yrs old. My practice is trauma informed and includes neurodevelopmental theory; attachment theory; sensory integration and embodiment. I have had the pleasure of working with many diverse families and children including complex needs and I work closely with teachers, professionals and a clinical supervisor to create a secure support network. The child is at the heart of my practice and I use an integrative, holistic approach to allow children the freedom and safety to fully explore their challenges and emotions. As a parent and a therapist, I believe it takes courage and commitment to bring your child to therapy and I hold deep appreciation and respect for families going through the process.
Individual Play Therapy sessions are held weekly for a minimum of 12 sessions with regular reviews. These are 40 minutes in length.
Group Play Therapy sessions are also held weekly for between 8-12 weeks in total.
Practice description
I provide individual and group play therapy for children and young people. I work in a variety of school settings and also offer a private practice space in West Runton, Norfolk. I work with charities, social enterprises, private families and the Local Authority.
My first session
The first step will be a free phone call or zoom meeting to find out your requirements and talk about the available options for your child/young person.
If you would like to proceed with therapy, we will then meet up to get some more background and assessment information before commencing the first therapy session.
For children with a trauma background and/or neurodiversity, I also offer additional introductions to ensure everyone feels well prepared.
