About me and my therapy practice
In my work, I believe the past and present weave themselves together. Often we can feel like we repeat patterns. I believe those patterns tell us something of our history and how we carry it with us.
The therapy space is yours to use as you wish, there’s no agenda for our sessions and there’s no right or wrong thing to say. There’s certainly no such thing as rambling! By allowing yourself to talk and think freely, sometimes new connections make themselves known and we can explore what these mean for you.
You are the expert in your experience but as a therapist, I can be a mirror for you. I might point out something you’ve said or a reaction you’ve had. We can look at our dynamic too, noticing how it may reflect other experiences you've had.
Practice description
Therapy sessions will be 50 minutes at the same time each week. I work face-to-face in Haywards Heath and provide online sessions to clients nationwide.
Our time together will be open ended, usually without a fixed end date in mind. I am however experienced with short term therapeutic work as well. If there is something specific you would like to work on, or only feel able to commit time and finances to a set block of sessions, please let me know. We can then consider how best to meet your needs.
I appreciate that life is about juggling multiple priorities. If you are someone who does shift work or doesn’t have the flexibility to meet at the same allocated time each week, please contact me and we can look at a plan to schedule your sessions.
In the first instance, we can have a free 30-minute call to talk about what you're looking for and what I can offer.
I work with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, work and relationship stress. I have a special interest in supporting those with long term and terminal illness. Additionally I have a wealth of experience talking about death, dying and bereavement.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know more about your reasons for seeking therapy and any goals you have for our work. This is an opportunity to go through our working agreement and the practicalities around our sessions. I can answer any questions you have about how I work as well. I may ask you about your history and family background so I can better understand who the key players are in your life. We will also discuss any safeguarding concerns or background information that you think would be helpful for me to know.
