About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor with a passion for helping others. I initially trained as a humanistic therapist in Person-Centred counselling, and hold the importance of the client/counsellor relationship at the core of my practice.
My belief is that by providing a safe, accepting, and compassionate environment for my clients to explore their deepest personal experiences, they can confront their thoughts and emotions through courage and support.
As people are all individuals, and there is 'no one size fits all' approach to therapy, I have undergone further training in Psychodynamic and Behavioural theories, which have allowed me to broaden my practice, encompassing an integrative approach consisting of a combination of techniques, allowing me to tailor my practice to meet my clients' specific needs and goals.
As a therapist, I feel my strength lies in my own self-awareness and courage to support clients through their darkest times, whether that's through exploring traumatic experiences, emotional despair, or existential crisis.
My approach can be quite challenging and uncomfortable, as I believe confronting internal conflict through vulnerability leads to courage and autonomy, however, my clients well-being is always at the forefront of my practice, and promoting a safe environment is paramount to my approach.
If you feel I may be the right therapist for you, or you would like to arrange a free initial consultation to answer any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in helping people with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, and anger, and I am primarily trained in person-centred therapy.
I adopt an eclectic approach, incorporating interventions from psychodynamic psychotherapy and behavioural modalities to provide a comprehensive therapeutic experience and help people work through their difficulties.
Throughout his time, I have worked with adults of all ages who have experienced a wide variety of psychological challenges, and developed a range of skills and experience to help you work through your problems in a supportive and non-judgemental way.
Practice description
I work alongside Newcastle Psychologist & Counselling. We have a range of therapist, counsellors and psychologists who specialise in a range of problems including depression, trauma, anxiety, addictions, sleep problems and others.
Our service also work with a range of different clients, including adult counselling (my specialty), child counselling, couples, families and those specifically wanting help with problems that hypnotherapy, or CBT Therapy might help.
We are based in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, next to the Regent Centre metro station and bus station, and have facilities in the area. We have a comfortable waiting area with a coffee shop attached and would be able to accommodate any needs relating to disability or difficulty with access (including online counselling through Zoom, Skype, and WhatsApp video).
My first session
My first session is an initial session where we introduce ourselves and use it as an opportunity to find out about your situation and for you to get a sense of how I work.
The initial session is important to me as it is the start of our work together, and also an opportunity for us to get to know each other and develop a sense of how I can best serve and help you through counselling.
I work in a way that gives you control over how many sessions you want to have (I often work on a session by session basis so that we can monitor your progress each session, and how you feel they are going), and am open to feedback and working flexibly to help support you in the best way possible.
Many clients find our work together helpful, and I'm able to tailor our sessions to help support you in a way that allows you to discuss any difficulties in an open and non-judgemental way.
