About me and my therapy practice
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, BA, MSc, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ
I am a trained Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with offices in Oxford, and Newbury. I completed my Masters training at Birkbeck, University of London, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Psychology and English from Durham University.
With over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health and challenging behaviour, alongside both the police and prison services, I recognise that thoughts and feelings can often be overwhelming and can seem impossible to manage at times. However many times it is our past experience, early childhood, even inherited family trauma that can obscure our relationship with the world and leave us feeling lost, confused and in pain.
Through short and longer term therapy I offer the space and time to explore both the known and unknown parts of oneself, with a view to moving towards a better understanding and acceptance of one’s place in the world, and the reasons that might have brought you to seek counselling today.
Practice description
I offer both face to face and online therapy, with a leaning towards the benefits of longer term work, which takes place in person.
I would aim to meet weekly, ideally in a face to face setting (currently with offices in Newbury and Central Oxford) and recognise that consistent, regular work together is where the strength of psychodynamic therapy lies.
My first session
To request an initial consultation please email me directly and we can arrange a 30 minute meeting either online or on the telephone.
We will be able to discuss what has brought you to seek counselling, and whether the psychodynamic approach and I, as a therapist, are an appropriate fit for your needs. There will be no charge for this meeting.
