About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative therapist and I use a ‘toolbox’ approach, meaning that I tailor our sessions according to your needs. We will work collaboratively and I will take into account any preferences you may have.
This means we might use a structured approach of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to explore how thoughts impact feelings, which then impact behaviour. Alternatively, it may be helpful to use a Psychodynamic approach where we explore how past experiences and relationships, including childhood ones, have impacted on your current relationships and attachments with others.
I am also Person-Centred, which means working with core conditions such as being genuine, empathic and non-judgemental. We will work together in identifying which approach works best for you or even use a combination.
Practice description
I work with individuals and couples over 16. I believe strongly in taking care of our mental health and emotional wellbeing. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space for clients to talk about whatever is on their mind. I believe we all have the capability to overcome our problems and I help empower my clients to achieve this.
I have over 18 years’ experience working in a listening role working with trauma, childhood issues and mental health. I have also coached and mentored during this time.
My first session
I understand that therapy can be daunting and our first session will be an ease into therapy where we might talk about why you're seeking help and any preferences you may have. I have been where you have and I am very flexible in my approach, so we can talk about as much or as little as you need to.
What I can help with
Abuse, Anxiety, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Disability, Health related issues, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Trauma
