About me and my therapy practice

I understand that when you are going through difficult times in life, it can feel lonely and isolating. Those feelings can feel even bigger when your relationships with others, as well as yourself, are difficult in some way. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where I can sit beside you in your challenging feelings and support you to make sense of what is going on for you. I see counselling as a collaborative process, where we can work through your challenging feelings together.

Human connection and healthy relationships are fundamental to our wellbeing. The patterns for how we are in relationships are formed during the first few years of our lives. And the interactions and connections we have with our primary caregivers’ shape these, for better or worse. When those first relationships have been difficult or lacking for any number of reasons, it can negatively impact our relationships in later life. This can lead to challenges in many areas, including romantic relationships, friendships, family, and colleagues. It can also mould how we view ourselves, affecting both our confidence and self esteem and impacting how resilient we are. These factors can determine how we deal with the ups and downs that life throws at us, including the end of relationships, loss, death and other significant changes.

Practice description

There are many different types of therapy available and it’s not a one size fits all approach. What will work for one person won’t necessarily work for another. The most important thing is finding a therapist you feel safe and comfortable with. As a qualified Integrative Therapist, I can work with a blend of different approaches and techniques, to meet your individual needs.

I work with people bringing a wide variety of challenges and every person’s goals and motivations for coming to therapy will be different . How we work together will be unique to you. However, the one thing I work to support all my clients with is creating a safe and secure human connection in the counselling room. We go at a pace set by you, building a solid foundation of trust from which you can feel safe to start exploring any uncomfortable feelings and the challenges that may be holding you back.

I work with adults and young people aged 11+ and offer short term or open-ended therapy. We’ll work together to decide what will be best suited for you and your circumstances.

I’m able to offer adults sessions face to face, online or over the telephone. For young people I offer sessions face to face.
