About me and my therapy practice

Choosing a therapist can be difficult. How do you know if someone will be right for you?

The best way to explore if someone is right for you is through an initial conversation.

That’s why I offer a free 20-minute pre-consultation call so you can find out about me, my experience and how I work with my clients. This gives you a good opportunity to get a feel for me. It also helps me to understand a little of your current situation and why you are seeking therapy.

If you feel ready to take the first step, do get in touch.

If or whatever reason,  I am not the best therapist for your needs, I can offer referrals where necessary so that you can find the help and support you need. Whatever the outcome, it won’t be a wasted conversation.

I am a fully qualified therapist registered with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ. In addition to my private practice, my experience is drawn from my work with an accredited counselling charity and though my work with young people in school settings.

I have experience working with clients on many different issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, bereavement, work related issues and trauma.

Some clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, isolated, in despair but others come for self-improvement, enhanced understanding of themselves and what they want from their lives.

Whatever your motivation for seeking therapy, my approach is to be alongside you to offer the space, the time and the attention to talk confidentially and safely.

Through building a strong therapeutic relationship, I can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings and gain a better understanding of yourself, working at a pace that is right for you. During your process of self-discovery, I can support you in making positive changes in your life.

Practice description

I work on an individual basis with adults and young people from a comfortable space in Gerrards Cross with free parking and easy access by public transport. I also offer online counselling.

The foundation of my practice is a person-centred approach. Through offering an honest, respectful, empathetic and non-judgemental approach, I hope to create an atmosphere of openness and safety where my clients can feel understood, supported and affirmed.

Every client is unique, and I adapt and tailor my approach and way of working with individual clients according to what they need. People may present with similar issues but what works with one client is often different to what works for someone else.

I bring a combination of life experience and prior professional experience to support you. If it is appropriate to our work and feels relevant, I can draw on my prior management experience in the corporate sector to support issues relating to work and careers.

As an ethical and reflective practitioner, I am committed to continuous professional development and training to enhance my practice.

My fees are £65 for a 50-minute session. I aim to be as accessible as possible in my private practice and offer a limited number of spaces at reduced rates for people facing hardship and students.

I welcome the opportunity to work with people of all ages, abilities, races, heritage, religion, gender, and sexuality.

My first session

In our first session we will usually discuss how we might work together and what the boundaries of a therapeutic relationship are. We are likely to talk about what you are seeking and perhaps hoping to gain from therapy.

Therapy can be short or long-term depending on your needs and we can talk about this. The number of sessions you have is your decision although we will regularly review our work together. This aims to ensure that the focus of our work and the support I offer is meeting your needs.
