About me and my therapy practice
An experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I specialise in anxiety, grief, relationship issues and low self-esteem.
Clients come to me for a wide range of concerns such as coping with life-limiting illness, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem and relationship issues.
I have supported clients who feel they have lost their sense of identity or purpose; who are struggling to adapt to changes in their relationships and families; and who feel overwhelmed by the uncertainty of life.
I also have a special interest in helping women navigate life changes during perimenopause and menopause. As with many other life changes, menopause can bring feelings of grief; loss of identity and confidence; anxiety; and feelings of hopelessness, to name a few.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, exploring your concerns confidentially, with a supportive therapist can help to unravel and make sense of your feelings, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and ultimately, bring about change and personal growth.
Practice description
Every client brings their own set of unique life experiences, beliefs and ways of looking at the world. As an integrative counsellor I adapt my approach to your individual needs, drawing on a variety of modalities and ways of working.
At the core of my therapeutic approach is the importance of building a strong, trusting relationship with my clients. I offer an atmosphere that is warm, accepting and compassionate, where you will be heard, understood and your experiences validated.
I work in person and online with young adults (18+) through to older adults and the elderly.
I offer both short and long-term therapy and we can discuss the planned duration of our work together in our initial session. We will review our work together regularly to ensure your needs are being met from counselling.
Finding a counsellor who you feel is the right fit can feel intimidating. I encourage you to speak to a few therapists to understand our different approaches and get a sense of who you connect with. For this reason, I offer an initial, free, no-obligation 20-minute phone call, during which we will discuss what you would like to gain from therapy and answer any questions you might have.
My first session
We will use our first full session to explore what brings you to counselling, what you hope to accomplish and to establish how we will work together.
It takes a lot of courage to ask for help when you are feeling distressed and it is completely normal to feel emotional, nervous or anxious when you first begin therapy.
Our first session is an opportunity for you to make sure you feel comfortable and trusting of me as your therapist.

It takes a lot of courage to ask for help when you are feeling distressed. I want you to know that whatever you’ve got going on right now, you do not need to tackle it alone.
My therapeutic approach
Every client brings their own set of unique life experiences, beliefs and ways of looking at the world. As an integrative counsellor I adapt my approach to my clients’ individual needs, drawing on different ways of working. Such as psychodynamic approaches which can help us to recognise how our past experiences and relationships impact our present-day relationships, the choices we make and our ways of coping.
