About me and my therapy practice

Everybody is unique and has their own way of processing their inner world and struggles. I understand that discussing your mental health can be a daunting and vulnerable experience, therefore creating a space which is empathetic, trusting and free from judgement is how I work.

Over the years I have gained a breadth of experience working within a number of environments, such as a GP surgery, a college and charitable settings. I have worked with people who have a wide range of therapeutic concerns, such as loss and bereavement, anxiety, childhood trauma, self-harm, depression, identity, low self-esteem, postnatal anxiety and depression, parental responsibility, fertility, and individuals who are processing prison experiences. In particular, I have years of experience working with young neurodivergent individuals in both educational and coaching roles, providing me with a deep understanding of how I can offer accessible and adaptive sessions.

Practice description

I regard myself as a humanistic integrative counsellor with all the work we do being centred around you, taking it entirely at your pace and adapted to you. I offer a calm, empathic and warm service, enabling trust to develop within our therapeutic relationship.

I offer a range of ways of working, from simply sitting and talking to expressing yourself in creative ways. Our counselling work is a place where you can feel seen and heard. My role is to be by your side whilst you express the difficulties your experiencing.

My first session

I understand that attending a first session can feel like an anxiety-provoking experience. However, reaching out and asking for help is a courageous step forward to gaining support.

In our first session, you will be met with understanding and empathy, creating a comfortable and accepting space for you. It is a session for us to establish a connection and understand what you hope to gain from counselling.

I offer a free initial phone call before arranging our first session where I can answer your questions about what to expect.
