I work face to face with clients in London at the Psychosynthesis Education Trust clinic rooms on Mondays. I also work online when meetings need to be rescheduled, and can do sessions between 5-9pm on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Friday I see clients at my clinic in Thame, Oxfordshire.
I am sensitive to those who cannot afford long-term work on themselves. I offer a range of fee settings depending on your circumstances and the location you choose to work in.
About me and my therapy practice
Are you stuck, finding life hard to manage or struggling with neurodiversity?
Work with me to reconnect with your authentic self. Now in recovery from working as a lawyer, I have spent the last quarter of my life working with people to put them back together in a way that works for them. I have personally experienced stress related burnout, workplace trauma, major depression, anxiety, and grief, on top of an adult diagnosis of attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD). It was years before I really understood what being neurodiverse means and the different way that my mind works.
Alongside my Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ qualification as a therapeutic counsellor in Psychosynthesis, I use practices from Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy that I learned as part of my master’s degree at Oxford University.
Together we can work to find the real person you essentially are, helping to reconnect you with the things that bring you joy, rather than getting stuck on automatic pilot, playing parts and roles in life that don't work for you any longer. You don't need to be unwell to benefit from psychosynthesis or mindfulness, although most people come to therapy when something gets stuck or unworkable in their lives. Whatever your reason to seek help, I believe in reconnecting you with what makes your heart sing.
I have over 12 years of experience in supporting wellbeing for individuals in workplaces, groups and one-to-one therapy settings. My training is Master of Arts, Cambridge University, in Experimental Psychology. Called to the Bar Lincoln's Inn, volunteered with LawCare. Master of Studies, Oxford University, in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Therapeutic Counselling from the Psychosynthesis Education Trust.
Practice description
I prefer to work Face-to-Face in person, using regular 50 minute sessions. When this isn't possible I offer online therapy via a secure video link. After a lifelong interest in psychology and self-improvement, I have collected a number of tools and techniques for working with clients, which I use within a structure of Psychosynthesis, a talking therapy modality devised by Psychiatrist Dr Roberto Assagioli in Florence in 1910.
His work on the unconscious, in particular the spiritual higher sub-concious is taking on new meaning in the 21st Century as his original ideas are expanded and explored by international psychotherapists. My training has included qualifications in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy as well as Psychosynthesis, and I use the imagination and intuition to help clients become unstuck from over-identification with the characters they learned to play in their lives to survive. Core work surrounds looking into your sub-personalities (roles and masks or games people play) and uncovering the inner needs ignored by people pleasers, as well as looking into the unconcious to help free you from the behaviours adapted having required to survive early (and mid-life) traumas.
Looking to Love and the Will, and the ways in which you connect to the core energies in the world will help you to expand your awareness of what is going on for you in the unconscious realm of automatic pilot, and use art, creativity, music, meditation, and science to help you understand, then free yourself from over-identification with some of these, learning new behaviours that will work for you as an adult today and in the future. I use psychosynthesis, mindfulness, guided meditation, gestalt techniques, transactional analysis, family systems, free drawing, and journalling to help you become aware of the things that have been holding you back from being the person you are supposed to be in life, connected to others and benefitting from the energy in the world.
My first session
In my first session we will look into every aspect of your life and work from the present moment back to early life experiences and traumas occuring in the family. The first session will help us to build a picture of your life, and understand where you would like to be instead in a place where your heart sings.
I will ask about any contact you have had with other therapy modalities, and whether you are currently taking medication for depression anxiety or other co-morbid illness difficulties like chronic pain, or ADHD for example. From this understanding of your life history and wishes for the future we can then start to work on becoming aware of patterns and roles that you might tend to play in the world, to see how these are restricting you from achieving freedom of ease and flow in life.
If you are unable to fund a long period of open-ended therapy work, you can bring one or two subjects that we can look into together in a more focussed way over a fixed number of sessions (perhaps 6 or 12) or budget. Please do let me know your circumstances and we can talk about adjusting my regular fees. Having done a lot of work on myself over my 50 years, I can truly say that I walk my talk. I understand that finding funds to pay for therapy can be as stressful as the immediate crisis you find yourself in when you call on me. I look forward to listening to your life story and finding together new ways that you can open up possibilities for today and your future.
