About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel very over whelming at times, and perhaps you are feeling stuck and don’t know how to move forward. You may feel embarrassed or a burden about sharing these issues with friends and family. My name is Eileen and I offer counselling that is both professional yet down to earth. I want to help you explore life’s difficulties finding a way forward that is right for you.
When we have feelings of being overwhelmed, frightened, and anxious it can help to talk to someone who is unbiased and non-judgmental. Someone who will listen with empathy and sensitivity to you helping you bring an awareness to your situation that can help you make the personal changes you need.
Counselling is a collaboration, I will not sit there and tell you what to do, we will work together to find out what it is that is causing you stress, anxiety, or depression and together we will find positive ways to help you manage these distressing feelings and help you get to a better place in your life.
My experience comes from many years supporting people through my voluntary work with the Samaritans and Veterans and from my counselling people in many other different settings. I have worked for over 35 years in people-based roles. The last 10 years I have managed a holistic centre where I have coached and supported people from all walks of life helping them to regain wellness.
It is very important to find a therapist you can trust; one you connect with and who you feel understands you. I offer a 10-minute telephone conversation to allow to discuss what you are struggling with and to see if I am a good match for you.
I am a qualified person-centred and CBT therapist and have experience with anxiety, depression, bereavement, PTSD. I also offer mindfulness approaches in my sessions. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Starting therapy can feel very frightening. I can be there for you, so you don’t have to feel alone.
